This article is a contribution to the taxonomical investigation of Middle Miocene (Sarmatian) molluscs from section (fossil site) Osek-1 at Spodnji Osek (Slovenske gorice) in the Mura-Zala basin on western margin of Central Paratethys. One gastropod species Acteocina lajonkaireana and four bivalves Musculus sarmaticus, Sarmatimactra eichwaldi, Ervilia dissita and Venerupis dissita have been systematically described. The identified fauna is assigned to the Lower Sarmatian age.

The contribution deals with crab remains from Middle Eocene flysch beds of environs of ]opi in central Istria, Croatia. Two specimens belong to the relatively abundant species Lophoranina marestiana (Konig, 1825). A part of carapace and a segment of chela belong to the species Lessinicarcinus euglyphos (Bittner, 1875). A smaller crab stone cast could not be taxonomically interpreted due to its poor state of preservation.

Remains of molluscs from a small outcrop at Zgornji Osek (section Osek-2) in Slovenske gorice are described. Some melanopsid gastropods and a bivalve Mytilopsis ornithopsis (Brusina, 1892) were documented. The fossil assemblage from fluvio-lacustrine sediments at Osek-2 corresponds to the Early Pannonian.

The article discusses fossil porgy fish teeth found in Middle Miocene (Badenian) sandy marl from Mastni hrib near Skocjan in Dolenjska. The teeth belong to the species Pagrus cinctus (Agassiz, 1836) and represent the first find in the Krka basin. In sediments of the Central Paratethys and the Mediterranean, the fossil remains of porgy fish are relatively common.

The article discusses a vertebra and a small shark tooth found in the Miocene Govce sandstone near Govce west of Lako in central Slovenia. The vertebra belongs to a shark of the superorder Galeomorphii but we could not determine it with greater precision. The small tooth was assigned to Carcharias cf. taurus Rafinesque, 1810. The nannofossils in the sample are scarce and did not allow dating at biozone precision.

Described are Miocene bivalves of species Megacardita jouanneti (Basterot, 1825) and quartz crystals of the »rocks crystal« variety. Both were found in clastics – quartz conglomerates and sandstones at Dobrina in Haloze. Until recently in rocks from this area no fossil remains were known. Also the well shaped quartz crystals of moderate sizes and various inclusions are new for Slovenia.
