Candida antarctica B lipase catalysed resolution of (±)-1-(heteroaryl)ethylamines

Luis E. Iglesias; Vı́ctor M. Sánchez; Francisca Rebolledo; Vicente Gotor

Abstract Candida antarctica B lipase is an efficient catalyst for the enantioselective acetylation of (±)-1-(heteroaryl)ethylamines (±)- 1a-c .

Lipase-catalyzed synthesis of optically active amides in organic media

Margarita Quirós; Vı́ctor M. Sánchez; Rosario Brieva; Francisca Rebolledo; Vicente Gotor

Abstract Lipases from Candida cylindracea and Candida antarctica catalyze the aminolysis of activated and nonactivated esters respectively. The degree of enantioselectivity depends on the amine.

Enzymatic resolution of new carbonate intermediates for the synthesis of (S)-(+)-zopiclone

Laura Fernandez Solares; Mónica Dı́az; Rosario Brieva; Vı́ctor M. Sánchez; Miguel Bayod; Vicente Gotor

Abstract The lipase from Candida antarctica B catalyzes the enantioselective hydrolysis of (±)-6-(5-chloropyridin-2-yl)-7-chloromethyloxycarbonyloxy-6,7-dihydro-5H-pyrrolo[3,4-b]pyrazin-5-one, a useful intermediate in the synthesis of (S)-(+)-zopiclone. This enzyme also catalyzes the resolution of the corresponding 2-chloroethylcarbonate derivative.

The enzymatic resolution of different cyclopyrrolone compounds has been performed in aqueous systems using different immobilized preparations of lipase from Candida antarctica (fraction B). The relevance of the immobilization protocol in the results has been shown: lipase immobilized on octadecyl-Sepabeads gave the highest stability and enantioselectivity. Commercial Novozym 435 was scarcely enantioselective in the hydrolytic process. On the other hand, the structure of the cyclopyrrolone was also found to be very important to the outcome of the reaction, the best results being achieved with compounds (±)-1 and (±)-2. Thus, using compound (±)-2, a ees of >95% can be achieved under conditions in which the enzyme preparation can be utilized in 10 recycles without any significant detriment to the enzymatic properties (activity, enantioselectivity). Moreover, this enzyme catalyzes the hydrolytic resolution of chloromethyl carbonate (±)-5, a useful intermediate for the synthesis of the hypnotic agent (S)-(+)-Zopiclone.

Enzymatic alkoxycarbonylation reactions on the intermediate in the synthesis of (−)-paroxetine, trans-N-benzyloxycarbonyl-4-(4′-fluorophenyl)-3-hydroxymethylpiperidine

Gonzalo de Gonzalo; Rosario Brieva; Vı́ctor M. Sánchez; Miguel Bayod; Vicente Gotor

Abstract Several enzymatic alkoxycarbonylation processes are evaluated for the resolution of trans - N -benzyloxycarbonyl-4-(4′-fluorophenyl)-3-hydroxymethylpiperidine, a chiral intermediate in the synthesis of (−)-paroxetine. Candida antarctica lipase B (CAL-B) catalyzes the enzymatic alkoxycarbonylation with diallylcarbonate with high enantioselectivity.

Enzymatic resolution of the chiral inductor 2-methoxy-2-phenylethanol

Marı́a I. Monterde; Rosario Brieva; Vı́ctor M. Sánchez; Miguel Bayod; Vicente Gotor

Abstract Several lipase-catalyzed processes are evaluated for the resolution of 2-methoxy-2-phenylethanol, a chiral auxiliary in the synthesis of optically active 1,4-dihydropyridines. Candida antarctica lipase B (CAL B) catalyzes the enzymatic acylation of the primary alcohol with high enantioselectivity.

Ignacio González; Natalia Navas; Luis Pérez; Juan J. Romero; Vı́ctor M. Sánchez

This paper describes the Uniovi Robocup Team (URT) Software Components for their first participation at RoboCup@Home competition. URT presents Geoffrey, a robot for service applications in the home environment. This is an efficient and green robot with a friendly behaviour. It is an ultra low-cost approach, designed with free hardware and software and recyclable components.
