Stephensia Brunnichella (Lepidoptera: Elachistidae) New Species for Lithuania

Stephensia brunnichella (L.) is presented as new species for Lithuania, and this is the first species of the genus Stephensia Stt. for the Lithuanian fauna. The new data on morphology and biology of the species including variations of genitalia is provided. Figures of imago, its genitalia, egg and mines are presented on the basis of Lithuanian material. Main references on the species are cited.

Contribution to the Knowledge of Central Asiatic Microlepidoptera with Description of New Species

New data on leaf-mining Lepidoptera from Central Asia are presented. Elachista levasi Sruoga sp. n. from Turkmenistan is described. Descriptions of external features and male genitalia are presented and figured in detail. For the first time female of Cosmiotes pallens Sruoga and C. amseli Parenti are described and their genitalia figured. C. kopetdagica Sruoga is synonimized with C. amseli Parenti. Karyotypes of the leaf-mining Lepidoptera species Ectoedemia spinosella (Joannis), Stigmella crataegella (Klimesch), Tischeria marginea (Haworth), T. angusticolella (Duponchel), T. rosella Gerasimov, Phyllonorycter connexella (Zeller), Ph. juglandicola (Kuznetzov), Ph. malella (Gerasimov), Ph. platani (Staudinger), Perittia tectusella Sruoga, Coleophora ornatipennella (Hobner) are presented.

New and little known Coptotriche and Tischeria species (Lepidoptera: Tischeriidae) from Primorskiy Kray, Russian Far East

The paper provides data on two new and two little known Coptotriche Walsingham and Tischeria Zeller species from Primorskiy Kray (=Primorskiy Territory), Russian Far East: Coptotriche minuta Diškus & Stonis, sp. nov., Tischeria unca Diškus & Stonis, sp. nov. are described, T. decidua siorkionla Kozlov and T. sichotensis Ermolaev are redescribed. Currently, together with the described new species, the fauna of Tischeridae of Far Eastern Russia comprises three Coptotriche species and seven Tischeria species. A neotype, replacing the missing type series of T. sichotensis, is designated here. For the first time all four species treated from Russian Far East are illustrated with photographs of the adults and genitalia (T. sichotensis also with photographs of the leaf-mines).

Definition of the Elachista puplesisi Sruoga complex (Lepidoptera, Gelechioidea, Elachistidae), with description of a new species

The Elachista puplesisi group is defined. Its characterization is based on two species, E. puplesisi Sruoga, 2000, known from the holotype collected in Turkmenistan and E. helia sp. nov., from Rhodos, Greece. The group is assigned to the subgenus Atachia of Elachista, but its affinities within Atachia remain unknown.

An annotated list of the Opostegidae of the Himalaya, with a description of Pseudopostega brevicaudata sp. nov. (Lepidoptera: Nepticuloidea)

Seven species of Opostegidae are reported from the Himalaya:Opostegoides pelorrhoa (Meyrick, 1915), Pseudopostega frigida (Meyrick, 1906), P. nepalensis Puplesis & Robinson, 1999, P. zelopa (Meyrick, 1905), Pseudopostega brevicaudata Remeikis & Stonis, sp. nov., Opostega chalcophylla Meyrick, 1910 and one documented but left unnamed Opostegoides species. Genital structures of all species treated herein are illustrated with photographs for the first time.

Abstract Stephensia armata sp. n., a remarkable species is described from Belize (Central America). The external features and genitalia of the male are figured and described in detail. A distribution map for all six Elachistidae species, currently recorded from tropical America, is given: Perittia smaragdophanes (Meyrick), P. punatensis Kaila, Elachista albisquamella Zeller, E. saccharella (Busck), E. vasrana Kaila and Stephensia armata Sruoga, sp. n.

Three new species of Elachistidae: Elachistinae from northern India are described: Elachista arcuata sp. nov., Urodeta jurateae sp. nov., and U. pectena sp. nov. The new species are diagnosed and illustrated with photographs of the adults and genitalia.

The Elachistidae (Lepidoptera: Gelechioidea) of Caucasus, with description of three new species

The Elachistidae fauna of the Caucasus is outlined. A total of 47 species are listed, three of which remain unidentified to species level. Three species are described as new: Perittia prolixa sp. nov., Elachista candidella sp. nov. and E. suffusca sp. nov. The new species are diagnosed and illustrated with photographs of the adults and genitalia. Twenty-seven species and the genus Perittia Stainton are reported for the first time from Caucasus.

A new species of Urodeta (Lepidoptera: Elachistidae: Elachistinae) from Nepal, the first record of the genus from Asia, showing an ancient distribution pattern

A new species, Urodeta noreikai Sruoga & De Prins, is described from the Nepalese Himalayas. The habitus and genitalia of both sexes are diagnosed and illustrated in detail. This discovery constitutes the first record of the occurrence of the genus Urodeta Stainton, 1869 in Asia and its biogeographic significance is discussed.
