Development of subroutine for automatic building of finite-element models of typical metal pylons of air power transmission lines

Aleksey N. Kozhevnikov; Dmitry A. Krasnorutskiy; Vladimir Levin

In this paper the description of the developed subroutine on the ANSYS Parametric Design Language (APDL) for automatic building of finite-element model of the typical metal pylons (supports) of air power transmission lines is presented. The proposed algorithm of the subroutines and structure of preparation of initial data allows user to edit and create models of typical constructions of pylon according to the drawings in a short time and to make necessary simulations.

Rapid assessment of the operational status of the oil-filled transformers

Vladimir Levin; Nurzhan Kerimkulov

The technique for rapid assessment of the status of oil-filled transformers, based on the use of statistical procedure for the identification of faults and database long-term measurements of concentrations of dissolved gases in oil, it is proposed. The technique allows to reliably and quickly detecting faults in oil-filled transformers at an early stage of development that ensures timely preventive measures and operation without failure.

The method of analyzing vibrations of air power transmission lines using reduced finite-element models ofpylons and differential model of thin elastic rod system

Aleksey N. Kozhevnikov; Dmitry A. Krasnorutskiy; Vladimir Levin; Nikolay V. Pustovoy

Air power transmission lines (PTL) are widely used for electricity delivery. To prevent possible crashes we should analyze dynamic response of air PTL under different external loads. In this paper the method of modeling dynamics of an air PTL is presented. Metal pylons simulated by reduced finite elements models. These models can be obtained using experimental system identification methods, but in this paper we use finite element modeling of pylons at ANSYS. To generate reduced models from full-sized finite element model of pylons the Component Mode Synthesis methods are used. Electric wires are represented by rod system. Nonlinear dynamics of each rod is defined by differential model of thin elastic rod. These rods have boundary conditions in the interface nodes of reduced finite element models of pylons. The equilibrium between reaction forces of rods and nodal displacements of reduced finite-element models of pylons is defined during numerical solution of the nonlinear boundary value problem for the rod system.

Improving the efficiency of maintenance and repair of electrical network equipment

Elena Rychagova; Vladimir Levin

The problem of distributive electric network operation upgrading efficiency in terms of selecting the optimum strategy of maintenance of its components is considered. Maintenance and repair of the distributive network components are controllable random processes. For its description the homogeneous semi-Markov model with discrete conditions and continuous time is developed. Based on the complex criterion “expenses - reliability” the optimization of the transmission and distribution equipment maintenance is carried out.

Investigation of Defect Formation Process in Transmission and Distribution Equipment

Elena Rychagova; Vladimir Levin

The results of the statistical investigation of defect formation process in the equipment of electric networks are shown. Probabilistic characteristics of the stochastic process of the growing defects formation are determined for the 6/0.4 kV transformers with a high degree of confidence. The results will be used in the evaluation models of the equipment reliability under the actual maintenance condition.

Analysis of a looping process of compressed twisted rods

Nikolay V. Pustovoy; Vladimir Levin; Dmitriy A. Krasnorutskiy

This paper is devoted to analyzing of looping process of rod subjected to axial compression and twisting. Results obtained are compared with results obtained by other researchers. On the basis of solution of small vibration problem buckling of equilibrium states of rod is analyzed.
