Todays Learning Management Systems, in conjunction with knowledge and skill acquisition modules, offer the possibility for automated assessment of the aforementioned knowledge and skills. Their implementation in teaching offers a wide range of advantages: reducing teacher administrative work, reducing the possibility of errors concerning preparation, execution and evaluation of exams; elimination of teachers subjectivity during the evaluation phase; lessening of inappropriate student actions during exams etc. A majority of tests that are done through LMS have a time limit, which opens up a problem of determining the optimal time parameters for a specific exam. The paper includes a statistical data analysis that was collected during five years via LMS Moodle on the Personal Computer Applications (PCA) course in professional study of electrical engineering at the Zagreb University of Applied Sciences. Through analysis and modelling the results of the statistical data processing, guidelines for time criteria for future tests were made.

The tree ammeter method and the three voltmeter method are used for measurements of power. More specifically, they are used to calculate the power factor of a specific load. Both methods are used on the „Fundamentals of electrical engineering” course in professional study of electrical engineering at the Zagreb University of Applied Sciences as an introduction to measurements of power and phasor arithmetic. Both methods are susceptible to accuracy problems caused by small errors in measuring devices. These accuracy problems in specific scenarios that were used during the course presented an opportunity to educate students on the difference of theory and its practical application. This paper examines our solution to the perceived accuracy problems and discusses the changes that were made in course material and teaching methods to highlight the difference between theory and practice.

The use of social networks in primary schools has become an imperative of modern times. Adding a profile has become more common in lower grades of primary school. Although the creation of a profile on social networks is forbidden to children under thirteen, many of them use a fake date of birth, or rely on an insufficient knowledge of safety statements and control by the parents, teachers, professors. More frequently, children have the possibility of an ‘uncontrolled’ access to social networks. Future MAs of primary school teaching meet the safety statements for the access to social networks in some of their compulsory courses, and later on, during their practice, volunteering and work, they will be able to transfer the acquired knowledge and skills to children and parents. Since most of the students spend their free time (and usually time intended for learning and lectures as well) on the use of social networks and playing online computer games every day, we have conducted a research on the students playing computer games with and without elements of violence’s self-evaluation on the frequency of use of social networks and their applications.

The paper shows the possibilities and ways to protect e-data in SIS. Nowadays, it is necessary to pay great attention to computer security. The paper presents the best way of protecting e-data in the database from malicious people, i.e., malicious users of these systems, and from the deterioration and obsolescence of data storage media with the data important for the organisation itself by making recommendations and showing the ways of their protection, explains the reason for creating a code of ethics for medical and health IT professionals. The information collected by using the questionnaire is shown. It can be concluded that most organisations use scanners and cameras to digitise documents, which are then usually stored in .pdf, .docx, and xml formats. The results of the research, which was conducted during the period of three weeks (plus two weeks) in 2012 and 2014 on the sample of nine organisations, show that there is no organisation that does not have a general policy of preserving the material in electronic form. A recommendation for the organisations is to back up electronic databases more often, or as many times as possible in the shortest period of time possible.

The cloud computing paradigm includes a spectrum of many models, developers and reference designs. This paper proposes information model for further taxonomy or classification and comparison of the fundamental cloud technology implementations that cover most common practical installations of the service and deployment models within the “private” or “community” branches of cloud computing infrastructures, which are not so clearly distinguished within the industry.

This chapter offers an original scientific research about stochastic based simulations and measurements of some objective parameters of acoustic quality and subjective evaluation of room acoustic quality, with acoustics optimization in multimedia classroom, complete scientific analysis, and application. The organisation of this chapter is very simple. After a short introduction that is an overview of completed research there are two main chapter parts with some definitions and explanations on the main subjects and research done. The conclusion to this research is contained in the final chapter segment.

Objective of this work is to explain the modelling concept of analytical function in the financial knowledge discovery model. This new simulation model of analytical function is devel- oped for a financial knowledge discovery process that is used for the Corporate Criminal Intelli- gence Analysis (CCIA, in short). Model was developed for the CCIA work of the whole analytical part of the Financial police of the Republic of Croatia. The benefit of this new simulation model of analytical function is in simple method (based mainly on statistical simulations) of measuring analytical capacity and capability of analysis, which is now in usage in the financial field and field of law. The analytical function of the CCIA was prepared for investigations of financial criminal incidents, financial criminal offenders or victims and for financial crime control methods, etc. An application of this simulation model increases the group effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of the operational and strategic financial investigative operations that are in usage during the whole financial knowledge discovery process.

Objective of this work is to propose the right intelligent and information model for usage mainly Artificial Intelligence & Operational Research (OR) financial modelling technology as strategic part of the Corporate Criminal Intelligence Analysis (CCIA). Providing expert operating and strategic capabilities, this technology increases the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of strategic investigative operations. Conclusion is that software solution dealing with specific Artificial Intelligence & OR tools must obey specific rules, especially in dealing with the criminal incidents, also with the criminals or victims, and with the methods employed to control any crime. Now this technology (of Information Systems Reengineering) can give us not only poor “ad hoc view”, but also new, fast and easy: “specific crime products view”, “specific crime finance view”, and “specific regional crime view”, in the same time or for various and specific periods of time.
