The aim of the present study was to analyze live weight and growth data of live weight at birth to 24.5-25.5 kg in weaned Dorper crossbred lambs. A total of 93 Dorper crossbred born lambs (½ Dorper + ½ Santa Ines) were evaluated, with percentage of 17.7 double (twin couple = 21%, twin with only females = 50%, twin with only males 29%). The sex of the lamb influenced ( P 0.05) were found for the age at weaning (AW), live weight at birth total (LWW total ) and live weight at weaning average (LWW average ) . For the type of birth all characteristics were significant ( P < 0.05). For doubling birth the characteristics LWB total , AW and LWW total had higher values

The objective of the study was to evaluate the influence of methods for breaking dormancy the seeds of tropical forage legume Leucaena leucocephala (Lam.). The seed treatments were: (T1) water at 100 oC/10 min; (T2) water at 100 oC/1 min; (T3) Acetone (10 min); (T4) Ethyl alcohol (10 minutes); and (T5) intact seeds (control). Data were analyzed using a completely randomized design with eight replications, and it was adopted the Tukey test at 5% significance level. The treatment T1, had the highest speed of germination of seeds GSI, differed (P < 0.05). The T5 treatment (control) was the slowest response, that treatments that passed through some break dormancy until the seventh day after the beginning of the test (Germ7), with an amount of 20% accumulation of germinated seeds. The worst result of germination it was T5, with 30% of non-germinated seeds after 15 days of sowing.

The mastite, inflammation process of mammary gland, characterized by a decrease in production and changes in milk composition, is considered the disease of major impact for dairy cattle in Brazil. Normally, this disease is resultant of the action of infectious agents, and may be involved different species of virus, fungi, and mainly, bacteria. It is important to remember, that the mastite, of any form and effect, reduces milk production and, in severe cases, may occur loss of one or more teats. Thus, the control of bovine mastite is important for the milk production of high quality. The aim of study is develop a study about this pathology that affects the dairy cattle and their effects in production and quality milk, and consequently, farmers, dairy industry and their products.

In modern genetic evaluations, random regression models have been used as a custom tool in order to analyze longitudinal traits such as the ones involved in animal growth. Such traits as body weight have an easy mensuration and an excellent response to selection, which is a suitable and important feature for animal breeding programs. The purpose of this review is to discuss about different random regression models that are involved in farm bird growth. The random regression models are recommended as an alternative to genetic evaluation of traits that are regularly measured during the animal life. These models allow the prediction of regression coefficients that represent the behavior of the additive genetic value for each animal in the specific evaluated trait in relation to time (age). Thus, interminable values for the independent variable are considered

Considering that the production of milk in the State of Goiás has undergone changes in the productive chain that reflect directly in the national scenario, studies are needed to obtain information on the quality of milk produced in this region. The present work was carried out in partnership with the cooperative receiving the milk production of the rural properties studied. The objective of this study was to evaluate the incidence of somatic cell count (CCS), total bacterial count (CBT) and the physicochemical composition of dairy herds in the southern region of the state of Goiás. The data of CCS, CBT and physicochemical analyzes were tabulated, from of period of August of 2015 to July of 2016. The samples were collected monthly in the cooling pond of the farms and sent to a laboratory accredited by the Brazilian Quality Milk Network (RBQL). High values were found in the CCS, however, remaining within the limits allowed by Normative Instruction 62. For CBT were found alarming results, as they were indexed beyond what is allowed by the regulation. Regarding the physical-chemical composition variables, this study were used
