1. A riebtgebigraphic position, called the carpal-bridge view, is introduced for the diagnosis of abnormalities in the dorsum of the wrist. 2. The value of this position in the diagnosis of lunate dislocation, navicular fracture, foreign body in the dorsum, fracture of the triangular, and tendinitis calcarea is briefly described.

It is the purpose of this communication to reintroduce the scatter roentgenogram as a method of statistical roentgen analysis. The scatter roentgenogram is defined as a normal radiograph of any portion of the body upon which data obtained from study of x-rays of a large number of individuals are plotted. It is similar to the statisticians scattergram, except that in place of ordinate and abscissa one utilizes the radiograph as the background upon which clinical data are plotted. Such a method was utilized by Peterson and Holmes1when they plotted the location of urinary calculi in 100 patients on a scout film of the abdomen. Study of the abdominal scatter roentgenogram produced indicated the predominant location of stones in a relatively small area medial to the spine of the ischium and just above a line joining the lowest part of the ischial spines. They suggested, therefore, that the roentgenologist

In the average case, the diagnosis of cholelithiasis by radiographic methods presents no difficulty for the experienced roentgenologist. In some cases, however, troublesome shadows are cast by fecal material and air in the hepatic flexure of the colon. These radiolucent shadows, when they overlie the contour of the medium-containing gallbladder, can be mistaken for gallstones. Ordinarily, the use of regular and special projections, as the postero-anterior with the patient erect and the right lateral decubitus advocated by Kirklin (1), will separate the shadows produced by the colon from those of stones within the gallbladder. In a small number of cases, however, the diagnosis of cholelithiasis will still remain in doubt. This occurs under two conditions: 1. When the shadow of the medium filled gallbladder cannot be separated from that of the colon in any position. This can be due either to adhesions between gallbladder and colon or to the peculiar anatomic construction ofthe patient. 2. When the gallbladd...
