User Interface Design Model

To promote the model-based software engineering development of user interfaces, this paper proposes an EIP model that can design user interfaces in abstract and can support automatic generation of user interfaces. In the model, functionality and composition are taken as the direct descriptive objects of engineering modeling, making user interface construction more intuitive and easily acceptable; and a layered approach is adopted for both abstraction and presentation of user interface description, making the modeling powerful enough in dealing with complex user interfaces. In the research, internal data models and their related user interface design patterns are isolated as the user interface modeling components, making presentation and layout more easily constructed. Based on EIP and tools, the automatic generation of user interfaces is achieved.

With the use of design patterns of user interface, the code generation becomes a process of model transformation.

A Semantics-Reconstruction Based Model-Driven Development Approach for Web Information Systems

The size of the gap between source model and target model has a profound impact on the efforts to create mapping rules in model-driven development. Starting from the analysis of semantic consistency requirement of model transformation, a semantics-reconstruction based model mapping approach for web information system development was proposed by abstractly analyzing the syntactic structure and semantic features of modeling languages. Target semantic model is used as an intermediary for disambiguation, and which provides a good basis for the semantic comparison between modeling elements at different abstract levels. This approach can provide an effective support for model driven development because semantic consistency between different level descriptions of the same component model can be ensured. J2EE is used as a target platform to help interpreting the process of using the approach.
