To improve the camouflage effectiveness of pattern painting, based on gradual coloration, a new disruptive pattern painting is put forward. There are different varieties of background vegetation and physiognomy in natural, especially in coloration. Therefore, the coloration in pattern painting should be various and gradual change between different colors. The natural gradual changing coloration scheme has the best camouflage effectiveness in theory, which cannot be painted in the surface of some targets. Different coloration schemes are intelligently designed to improve pattern background matching effectiveness, and also be convenient in construction. A test pattern painting is designed based on different coloration schemes. The results show that the proposed scheme can be used to improve background matching effectiveness, and the proper coloration scheme is selected.

Abstract In this paper, we produced spinel structure nanometre cobalt blue powder pigment by chemical coprecipitation. We also modified it through element doping and analysed the spinel structure and colouring mechanism of the pigment. We discussed the process conditions of coprecipitation reaction, the influence of doping element and its content on the properties of cobalt blue pigments spectral reflection effect. The morphology and particle size of powders were characterised through scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy. The doping element type and content have great influence on the spectral curve of the cobalt pigment. High temperature in sintering contributes to the performance of the products. The sample produced at 1250°C sintering possesses good reflection characteristics, which is similar to chlorophyll.

Abstract In this paper, the fly ash cenosphere was coated evenly on the surface with Ni–P alloy in chemical plating method. The coated cenosphere was used for coating as filler, and its heat insulation performance and absorbing performance was tested. The results show that the cenosphere chemical nickel plating material complex dielectric constant is bigger than complex permittivity in both real part and imaginary part. The imaginary part of complex permeability is close to zero, which means it belongs to the electromagnetic loss type materials. ε″ appeared the maximum 20·3 when the frequency is 4 GHz. We tested the cenosphere heat insulation coating with self-made heat insulation device. The temperature difference between back coating at balance point and the blank sample reached 10°C, indicating obvious heat insulation effect.

To obtain the characteristics of rock is one of the most significant methods in reconnaissance in order to make the project camouflaged. This paper, which is based on the former study on digital image processing technique, is mainly about the way to acquire the general and detailed information, such as geographic distribution and specific texture of rock. The technique put forward in the paper is fundamental to carry out reconnaissance, design the project and evaluate the camouflage effect.

The blending effect of design pattern of five-surface plane developed drawing is important to the design pattern. The blending of three-dimensional pattern design can realize the automation of pattern design. The target pattern design of air brushing is based on the square design picture. Therefore, the effect is bad, especially in the edges between surfaces. Edge processing method is developed to solve this problem. The pixels are compressed in accordance with the image pixel compression method. According to the processing steps, the computer programming is performed. The results shows that, the floral drawing in the blending design figure can extend to the adjacent surfaces naturally, and the blending effect is great after the three-dimensional blending perform.

In the modern battlefield, Radar is one of the most important equipment in the field of information access and precision-guided, battlefield targets face increasing radar threat, the application of radar stealth technology can improve the survivability of the target to some extent. But the development of radar stealth technology with tank for typical ground weapon is slow, especially to the existing ground weapon. This paper analyzes the distribution of radar scattering characteristics of the existing tank, and the deformable member for shape stealth for existing tank is designed, the results prove that the RCS of tank can be preferably reduced with the deformable members.

Digital camera is widely used in the data collection of objective and background in the field of pattern design and supervisory controlling. However, the color in digital photo copied from camera is not in accord with the actual color of objective, which affects the accuracy of design pattern. The polynomial regression algorithm is widely used in color reproduction of image input and output area. The accuracy of color reproduction is related to the different order. Therefore, the field experiment is developed. The application indicates that the performance of four order polynomial regression color reproduction is the best algorithms and it can be used in color reproduction.

The extraction of major colors is the basis of image processing. In the process of camouflage pattern painting design, whether major colors are extracted rapidly and precisely are very important to the application. Histogram clustering and K-means clustering and ISODATA clustering are three widely using extraction algorithms. To test and compare the accuracy of the three algorithms, the definition of average color difference is introduced. Then, two representative forest land background images are used to compare the performance of three algorithms. The result shows that, ISODATA clustering algorithm is superior to other two kind of clustering algorithms.

As many influence factors and technical problems should be taken into account in the scheme selection decision of multi-band camouflage screen design, a method based on hierarchical grey relational analysis combing analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and grey relational analysis (GRA) was developed. The hierarchy model was constructed firstly, and the judging matrixes were established through analytic hierarchy process. The weight value for each index which effects the evaluation was determined accordingly. The relational degree between an individual alternative scheme and the ideal alternative and the worst alternative are calculated by grey correlation degree, and the evaluation degree is calculated according the grey correlation degree and weight value. Based on the relational degree a quality order for the alternative schemes can be obtained. Experiment was carried out, which proved that the method mentioned in this paper had both strict mathematical theory basis and good practical utility. This method can be also used in scheme selection decision of other camouflage designs.
