At least one of the Grand Challenges will be mn on a virtual machine composed of a Paragon, CM-5, and C90 by using PVM (parallel Virtual Machine.) The range of machines on the SCInet provides a unique opportunity to link together a virtual machine with unparalleled heterogeneity. The goal of this entry is to illustrate heterogeneity, portability, and robusmess in large scale applications while only requiring a Unix Operating System and PVM.
