Organic Letters | 2014

Facile palladium-catalyzed hydrocarboxylation of olefins without external CO gas.

Yang Wang; Wenlong Ren; Jingfu Li; Haining Wang; Yian Shi

An effective Pd-catalyzed hydrocarboxylation of olefins with phenyl formate and formic acid is described. A variety of carboxylic acids are obtained in good yields with high regioselectivities under operationally simple conditions without the use of toxic CO gas.

Organic Letters | 2015

Pd-Catalyzed Regiodivergent Hydroesterification of Aryl Olefins with Phenyl Formate.

Wenlong Ren; Wenju Chang; Yang Wang; Jingfu Li; Yian Shi

An effective Pd-catalyzed regiodivergent hydroesterification of aryl olefins with phenyl formate is described. Either linear or branched phenyl arylpropanoates can be obtained in good yields with high regioselectivities by the judicious choice of ligand without the use of toxic CO gas.

Organic Letters | 2017

A Ligand-Directed Catalytic Regioselective Hydrocarboxylation of Aryl Olefins with Pd and Formic Acid

Wei Liu; Wenlong Ren; Jingfu Li; Yuan Shi; Wenju Chang; Yian Shi

An effective Pd-catalyzed hydrocarboxylation of aryl olefins with Ac2O and formic acid is described. A variety of 2- and 3-arylpropanoic acids can be regioselectively formed by the judicious choice of ligand without the use of toxic CO gas.

Organic chemistry frontiers | 2017

An effective route to β2-amino acid derivatives via Pd-catalyzed regioselective hydrocarboxylation of 1,2-disubstituted enimides

Jie Dai; Wenlong Ren; Wenju Chang; Ping Zhang; Yian Shi

An effective Pd(0)-catalyzed hydrocarboxylation of 1,2-disubstituted enimides with formic acid and HCOOPh is described. A variety of β2-amino acid derivatives are obtained in good yield with high regioselectivity without using external toxic CO gas.

Organic chemistry frontiers | 2018

Palladium-catalyzed regio- and enantioselective hydroesterification of aryl olefins with CO gas

Jingfu Li; Wenlong Ren; Jie Dai; Yian Shi

An effective Pd-catalyzed regio- and enantioselective hydroesterification of aryl olefins with CO gas is described. A variety of phenyl 2-arylpropanoates can be obtained in good yields with high b/l ratios and ees.

Organic chemistry frontiers | 2018

An effective approach to aryl-substituted propanoic acids via the Pd-catalyzed hydrocarboxylation of stilbenes

Jie Dai; Wenlong Ren; Jingfu Li; Yian Shi

An effective Pd(0)-catalyzed hydrocarboxylation of substituted stilbenes with formic acid and HCOOPh is described. A variety of aryl-substituted propanoic acids are obtained in good yields without using external toxic CO gas.

Organic chemistry frontiers | 2017

A facile approach to ketones via Pd-catalyzed sequential carbonylation of olefins with formic acid

Wenju Chang; Jie Dai; Jingfu Li; Yuan Shi; Wenlong Ren; Yian Shi

An effective palladium-catalyzed sequential carbonylation of olefins with formic acid is described. Ketones and the corresponding α,β-enones can be obtained with up to 90% yield. The reaction process is operationally simple and requires no toxic CO.

Journal of the American Chemical Society | 2016
