Druckverlust in glatten und innenberippten Verdampferrohren

The pressure drop in smooth and rifled evaporator tubes was measured on a high pressure test facility for the range of parameters of a conventional steam generator. Based on these experiments and results from literature, methods were developed by which the frictional pressure loss in these tubes may be calculated with a good degree of accuracy. To verify the assumptions on which these models are based, the stagnation pressure distribution in single-phase and two-phase flow in smooth and rifled tubes was determined. By comparing measurements taken on tubes in horizontal and vertical orientation, the so called liquid hold-up, which is a measure for the hydrostatic pressure drop, could be determined for rifled tubes.ZusammenfassungFür den Parameterbereich konventioneller Dampferzeuger wurde an einer Hochdruckversuchsanlage der Druckverlust in glatten und innenberippten Verdampferrohren gemessen. Basierend auf diesen Experimenten und Meßwerten aus der Literatur wurden Verfahren entwickelt, mit denen der Reibungsdruckverlust in diesen Rohren mit guter Genauigkeit berechnet werden kann. Um die diesen Verfahren zugrundeliegenden Modellvorstellungen zu überprüfen, wurde die Staudruckverteilung bei einund zweiphasiger Durchströmung in glatten und innenberippten Rohren bestimmt. Durch Vergleichsmessungen, die bei horizontaler und vertikaler Rohrlage durchgeführt wurden, konnte außerdem die sogenannte Gravitationsdichte, der der geodätische Druckabfall proportional ist, für innenberippte Rohre ermittelt werden.

Heat transfer in vertical and horizontal one-side-heated evaporator tubes

Heat transfer tests were carried out in a high-pressure test loop using a tube of 6.1-m heated length and 19.55-mm inner diameter. For simulation of nonuniform heating, the wall thickness of the electrically heated tube was reduced over half of its circumference. Experiments included not only vertical upward flow, but also horizontal tube installation with side heating and top heating. The temperatures and heat fluxes on the inside of the tube were determined by two-dimensional analysis based on the temperatures measured at the outer tube wall. For the calculation of the critical heat flux in the case of vertical upward flow, it was found that the occurrence of the boiling crisis is evidently governed by local variables. With horizontal flow and top heating, the boiling crisis often moves toward very low steam qualities. In such cases the reduction in heat transfer in the post-CHF region is less than expected. This may be attributed to the occurrence of secondary flow resulting from nonuniform heating.

Bestimmung des Wärmeübergangs im unbenetzten Teil von Verdampferrohren unter Berücksichtigung zweidimensionaler Wärmeleitung im Wandmaterial

A method based on a relaxation procedure is presented which enables the two-dimensional analysis of heat transfer experiments carried out with non-uniformly heated or non-vertically installed evaporator tubes. With this method all data necessary for the determination of post-CHF-heat transfer from partly wetted heating surfaces to the flow can be provided. With two examples - describing the effects in a horizontal and in an oneside heated evaporator tube - the application of the method is demonstrated. The results of the two-dimensional analysis are compared with those obtained by an one-dimensional evaluation of the tests.ZusammenfassungEs wird eine auf dem Relaxationsverfahren basierende Methode zur zweidimensionalen Analyse von Wärmeübergangsversuchen mit einseitig beheizten oder nicht vertikal durchströmten Verdampferrohren vorgestellt. Damit können die notwendigen Daten zur Bestimmung des Post-CHF-Wärmeübergangs teilweise benetzter Heizflächen zur Verfügung gestellt werden. An Hand von zwei Beispielen - einem horizontal durchströmten und einem einseitig beheizten Verdampferrohr - wird die Anwendung des Verfahrens gezeigt. Die Ergebnisse der einund zweidimensionalen Analyse werden verglichen.
