Wolfram Trowitzsch; Victor Wray; Klaus Gerth; Gerhard Höfle

The Structure elucidation of myxovirescin A, a new 28-membered macrocyclic antibiotic, is described.

Journal of The Chemical Society, Chemical Communications | 1983

On the biosynthesis of the antibiotic myxovirescin A1 by Myxococcus virescens

Wolfram Trowitzsch; Klaus Gerth; Victor Wray; Gerhard Höfle

13 n C N.m.r. spectroscopy has been used to deduce the labelling patterns of the antibiotic myxovirescin A1 derived from 13C-Iabelled acetate methionine, and glycine which are all incorporated during biosynthesis by Myxococcus virescens.

A New Red Dipyrromethene Pigment from Candida boidinii

Siegmund Lang; Hanna Beyer; Peter Sistig; Fritz Wagner; Wolfram Trowitzsch; Victor Wray

The yeast Candida boidinii ATCC 32195 produces a cell-bound red pigment during growth on 1% ethanol in the presence of 0.05% monofluoracetate. Its isolation and purification are described. The structure was elucidated by chemical degradation and physical methods, mainly mass and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
