A study on the photoinduced charge transfer process of triaryl-2-pyrazoline compounds

Abstract In this work, the steady state photophysical behavior of triaryl-2-pyrazoline compounds with different substituted groups has been studied. From the absorption and fluorescence spectra of these compounds in various solvents with different polarity and based on a study of their fluorescence quantum yields, it is concluded that there are two mechanisms of photoinduced intramolecular charge transfer, one involving the conjugated and the other involving the non-conjugated bonds. It is reported that there is a tendency for the transfer reaction to proceed towards the prevailing side of the competition among these processes.
