Synthesis and Structure of a HgCl2 Coordination Polymer With 1,4-Bis(benzimidazole-1-yl-methylene)benzene (bbmb)

In this study, solution reaction of mercury dichloride with organic multifunctional ligand 1,4-bis(benzimidazole-1-yl-methylene)benzene generated a 1D polymer [HgCl2 (bbmb)·2H2O ·CH3OH]n 1, and the crystal structure has been determined (C46H60Cl4Hg2N8O10), Mr = 1428.00, a = 14.703(15) Å, b = 17.248(17) Å, c = 14.91(2) Å, β = 114.869(10)°, space group C2/c, Z = 2, and V = 3430(7) Å3. In 1 the tetrahedral coordination of Hg(II) and the conformation of the bbmb ligand make it a wave-shaped structure. Supplemental materials are available for this article. Self-Assembly, Crystal Structure and Thermal Property of a Coordination Polymer [(DDTD)(Cu3I5)]n

A novel coordination polymer [(DDTD)(Cu3I5)]n(DDTD = 5, 8-diazoniadispiro[4.2.4.2]tetradecane dication) was obtained and characterized by X-ray crystallography, elemental analyses, and IR spectroscopy. In the polymer, a unique 1D helical chain of (Cu3I5)n cluster was constructed, and the C-H· · ·I intermolecular interactions extended the 1D entities into high-dimensional frameworks to stabilize the supramolecular architecture. Furthermore, thermal property (TG, DTG and DSA) of the polymer was studied.

Synthesis and Structure of a Supramolecular Coordination Polymer [ZnI2L(CH3OH)(H2O)2]n (L = N-(3- (isonicotinamido) phenyl) isonicotinamide) With 1D Chain Structure

Reaction of a ZnI2 solution in CH3OH/H2O with a solution of L in DMF gave rise to a novel 3D supramolecular compound [ZnI2L(CH3OH)(H2O)2]n based on 1D wavy chain. The crystal structural analysis indicated that the complex crystallized in a monoclinic space group C2/c, a = 29.381(6), b = 13.021(3), c = 13.959(3), β = 102.48(3), V = 5214.0(18) Å3, Z = 8. The complex possessed a 3-D supramolecular framework formed by intermolecular hydrogen bonding among 1D wavy chains.

Syntheses and Crystal Structures of Three Supramolecular Halides: (DDTD)[Zn(N3)3Cl], (DDTD)[Hg2Br6], (DDTD)[Cd4(N3)6(Cl)8] Directed by DDTD Dication

The self-assembly reaction of metal halides with DDTD dication (DDTD = 5,8 -Diazoniadispiro[4.2.4.2] tetradecane) yielded three novel organic-inorganic hybrid mental halides (DDTD)[Zn(N3)3Cl] (1), (DDTD)[Hg2Br6] (2), and (DDTD)[Cd4(N3)6(Cl)8] (3), which are characterized by X-ray crystallography and IR spectroscopy. The crystal structures of 1–3 show that they all crystallize in monoclinic systems. Compound 1 is mononuclear complex, compound 2 is binuclear complex, and compound 3 is a tetranuclear polymer. These compounds contained a variety of inorganic frameworks, due to the different coordinated modes of metal centers with halogen, which accordingly led to the change of the C-H···Cl(Br) interactions in the complexes.
