A phase based optimization algorithm for big optimization problems

An effective and scalable metaheuristic algorithm termed Phase Based Optimization (PBO) for solving big optimization problems is proposed. In the natural system, the individuals with three phases which are gas phase, liquid phase and solid phase have completely different motional characteristics. PBO mimics the above three kinds of motional characteristics of individuals, and three corresponding operators, diffusion operator of gas individuals, flowing operator of liquid individuals and perturbation operator of solid individuals are devised. The diffusion operator and the flowing operator are utilized to perform the task of divergence and convergence respectively, and the perturbation operator plays a role of fine-tune search. Despite its algorithmic simplicity, PBO can effectively find a very better solution even in a high dimensional search space. The experimental results demonstrate that PBO can provide much better accuracy on optimized solutions and lower time complexity than the other state-of-the-art optimization algorithms.

Toward Automatic Calculation of Construction Quantity Based on Building Information Modeling

The application of BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology in practical engineering becomes more and more frequent. The current research on quantity calculation based on BIM discusses the cost estimation of the building projects. There are few methods that can query construction quantity during the design process which facilitates the designer to modify the relevant data at any time. In view of the present situation, this paper describes a calculation construction method on Revit platform, which is one of currently the most popular BIM modeling platform. The effectiveness and disadvantages of the approach are analyzed through a practical engineering example. With this method, designers can get real-time quantity in the design process in any time, and the design results can be checked and updated automatically based on statistics result of engineering quantity when necessary.

The Assessment Study of Airport Staff Work Performance Based on Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation

Because of individual work efficiency affecting the whole airport working efficiency, its very important that how to evaluate the individual work efficiency scientifically. In this paper, by analyzing the working characteristics and environment of civil aviation airport staff, a hierarchical fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model is introduced. For the complexity and variability of the working environment of airport, a composition operator adjusting the parameters weight is proposed to enhance the flexibility of the evaluation model. In the fuzzy evaluation matrix selection stage, in order to structure a more scientific and objective evaluation matrix, the random sampling method is brought in to assess the relevant data about the evaluation target. By analyzing the airports work records in 2015, the parameter weights are calculated, and the improved model is applied to the staff work performance evaluation in the first half of 2016. Good result is achieved, i.e., the whole work efficiency of airport had been increased by more than 10% compared to the same period last year.

A Quick Algorithm for Rule Acquisition Based on Distributed Computing

Among the methods to knowledge discovery, rough set proposed by Pawlak is one of the most important theories. One key concept of rough set is reduction, which is proved to be NP-hard problem. In order to improve the effectiveness of reduction, a quick algorithm about information reduction and rule acquisition based on distributed computing is put forward. In this algorithm, an attribute-value-tree about decision table firstly is created, a structure of parallel computing about distributed reduction is proposed by taking advantage of distributed feature of cloud. This method makes use of relative independent characteristic about attribute-value-trees to improve effectiveness of reduction. Its fit to deal with big data in distributed cloud environment.
