The massive data generated by the Internet of Things (IoT) are considered of high business value, and data mining algorithms can be applied to IoT to extract hidden information from data. In this paper, we give a systematic way to review data mining in knowledge view, technique view, and application view, including classification, clustering, association analysis, time series analysis and outlier analysis. And the latest application cases are also surveyed. As more and more devices connected to IoT, large volume of data should be analyzed, the latest algorithms should be modified to apply to big data. We reviewed these algorithms and discussed challenges and open research issues. At last a suggested big data mining system is proposed.

In wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSNs), wirelessly interconnected devices are able to ubiquitously retrieve multimedia contents such as video and audio streams from the environment. However, since WMSN applications are large-scale, dynamic and highly concurrent, how to achieve both effective multimedia device resource management and collaborative task scheduling simultaneously becomes a serious problem. In this paper, using the hierarchical modeling technique, we first propose a device ability model including spatial information. In order to solve the problem of insufficient capacity of single devices, we then give a composite device ability model and relevant calculation formulae. Next, we introduce a novel device resource matching technique based on the proposed model. Compared with previous works, experimental results show that our technique achieves better recall and precision and meets WMSN application needs more effectively. Furthermore, our proposed approach greatly reduces the design complexity as well as the workload of application designers.

In recent years, there has been an increasing interest to reduce the electricity bill and increase the energy efficiency of large-scale distributed systems. How to model device collaboration system for green communication is an important issue for distributed large-scale devices integration and collaboration in a seamless and green way. Although PI-Calculus has an advantage of modeling concurrent and dynamic systems, only functional aspects of device collaboration have been addressed, non-functional aspects such as energy consumption have been ignored due to the fact that PI-Calculus lacks for capability of modeling and analyze them. This paper proposes a PI-Calculus extended with price information—Price PI-Calculus. Firstly, it associates energy cost with process in PI-Calculus through price function. Second, with the help of the semantics of PI-Calculus transitional and price function, it associates the change of collaboration cost with the system evolution. After that a large-scale device control system modeling method based on Price PI-Calculus is presented. Finally, take advantage of operational and transitional semantics and a formal deduction, function correctness of device collaboration has been checked, in the meantime the system energy consumption has also been analyzed, it is very useful for choosing the energy-saving flow of device collaboration.

Based on the development of lighting control and management system in the central area of Beijing Olympic park, a large-scale area lighting scheme design language (LALSDL) has been proposed. Through the analysis of the demand of control and manage the lighting devices in the central area of Beijing Olympic park, the characteristics that LALSDL should have are summarized; Through the summary of the involved operations of the lighting devices in the central area of Beijing Olympic park, lighting device declaration and operation statement are defined; device call expression (DCE) is used to define the call procedure of lighting device, The Operational Semantics of DCE is strictly defined. The results of this paper have been applied to the lighting control and management system in the central area of Beijing Olympic park, which was in good condition in the course of running.

The scene lighting of the Center of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games calls for a lot of lighting devices which are of different types and different communication protocols. The problem that how to standardize these communication messages of devices which use different communication protocols to accomplish unified access of these devices has become one of the most important challenges. To solve these problems, this paper brings up device meta- communication protocol (DMCP) and leverages the generation of communication message standardized criterion in lighting field based on considering the specialization of scene lighting.

The performance of device collaboration is important in the large-scale device collaboration system, so the large-scale device collaboration performance evaluation is one of the main contents of the large-scale device collaboration research. Aiming at the problem of the large-scale device collaboration performance evaluation, the paper presents a large-scale device collaboration performance evaluation approach based-on dynamical system theory. A dynamics model of the large-scale device collaboration performance evaluation is defined and an evaluation approach is provided. Finally, an application example is given to demonstrate the usage of this approach.

In the modern world, the large-scale area devices collaborative technology becomes the supporting technology in many areas. The demand on transaction for device collaborative system is high, but relevant research is scarce. In this paper, we propose a new transaction model, which loose the requirement of ACID. We also give device operations conflicts detection rules, and a mechanism to calculate compensation operation is proposed, which can generate compensation operation list and significantly reduce the number of device operations. The proposed models and algorithm are verified by testing results.

Aiming at the large-scale and dynamics of large-scale device collaboration system, the paper presents a QoS meta-model of large-scale device collaboration, which contains QoS of single device resource, compound QoS of multiple device resource and the constrain relation among QoS. A prototype system based on the QoS meta-model is designed and implemented. Finally, simulation experiments are done. It is proved that the large-scale device collaboration task execution based on QoS model can satisfy the performance requirement of large-scale device collaboration.

In the large-scale area lighting device collaboration system, because of the exclusivity of lighting device control, it is unavoidable to generate lighting device conflict when there are multi-tasks concurrently execute. This paper presents a lighting device conflict detection mechanism in the large-scale area lighting device collaboration system. Aiming the characteristic of multilevel device operation, recursion method is adopted to discover the multilevel device conflict in the large-scale area lighting device collaboration system. Finally, in order to verify the validity of the mechanism, experiments are done. It is proved that the large-scale area lighting device conflict detection mechanism can provide the insurance of the reliability for the upper-layer applications.
