Microstructure, dielectric, ferroelectric and energy storage properties of SnO2 doped Ba0.5Sr0.5TiO3 ceramics

ABSTRACT In this study, various amount of SnO2 was doped into Ba0.5Sr0.5TiO3 ceramics. The effects of SnO2 doping on phases, densities and microstructures, energy storage densities of prepared BST ceramics were studied. XRD patterns indicated that Sn4+ has entered the BST lattice. SnO2 also showed the effect to inhibit the grain growth. When SnO2 content was 0.05 mol%, the energy storage efficiency can be greatly improved.

Effects of microwave sintering processing parameters on properties of BaTiO3 ceramics

ABSTRACT BaTiO3 ceramics were fabricated by microwave sintering in very short soaking time. The phases, microstructures, and dielectric constants were studied. Elevated sintering temperatures resulted in larger gain size, higher Tc, and larger c/a. The dielectric constant of sample sintered at 1200°C could reach 3315. Faster heating ramps may improve both dielectric constant and dielectric loss.
