A Review of the Subgenus Scymnus of Scymnus from China (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae)

Abstract. The subgenus Scymnus of Scymnus Kugelann, 1794 from China is revised. Fifty-six species of the subgenus Scymnus known to occur in China, including twenty seven new species are documented: Scymnus (Scymnus) impolitus sp. nov., S. (S.) obesus sp. nov., S. (S.) zhangmuensis sp. nov., S. (S.) byssinus sp. nov., S. (S.) makuensis sp. nov., S. (S.) extumidus sp. nov., S. (S.) comosus sp. nov., S. (S.) choui sp. nov., S. (S.) trachypus sp. nov., S. (S.) deltatus sp. nov., S. (S.) leigongicus sp. nov., S. (S.) arciformis sp. nov., S. (S.) luxiensis sp. nov., S. (S.) acerbus sp. nov., S. (S.) pingqianensis sp. nov., S. (S.) deflexus sp. nov., S. (S.) plautus sp. nov., S. (S.) xiongfeii sp. nov., S. (S.) recavus sp. nov., S. (S.) nabangicus sp. nov., S. (S.) fasciculatus sp. nov., S. (S.) fusinus sp. nov., S. (S.) guniujiangicus sp. nov., S. (S.) caiyanghensis sp. nov., S. (S.) serratus sp. nov., S. (S.) biconvexus sp. nov., and S. (S.) clavellatus sp. nov. Scymnus (Scymnus) sufflavus Canepari, 1997 and S. (S.) trisulicus Canepari, 1997 are recorded from China for the first time. Nomenclatural history, diagnoses, illustrations and distribution are provided for fifty-five recognized species. A key to the species from China is presented.

A Review of the Subgenus Neopullus of Scymnus (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) from China

Abstract. The subgenus Neopullus of Scymnus Kugelann, 1794 from China is herein revised. Eighteen species are documented from China, including four new species described here: Scymnus (Neopullus) nigroventralis Chen et Ren, S. (N.) brevicollis Chen et Ren, S. (N.) lulangicus Chen et Ren and S. (N.) quercanus Chen et Ren, spp. nov. Diagnoses, detailed descriptions, illustrations and distributions are provided for each species. A key to Chinese species is given.

The Subgenus Pullus of Scymnus from China (Coleoptera, Coccinellidae). Part I. The Hingstoni and Subvillosus Groups

Abstract. The hingstoni and subvillosus groups of species of the subgenus Scymnus (Pullus) Mulsant occurring in China are reviewed. Among descriptions of 31 species provided, 18 species are described as new to science: Scymnus (Pullus) ampuliformis sp. nov., S. (P.) bulangicus sp. nov., S. (P.) caudatus sp. nov., S. (P.) dasyphyllus sp. nov., S. (P.) devexus sp. nov., S. (P.) epimecis sp. nov., S. (P.) hiulcus sp. nov., S. (P.) inclinatus sp. nov., S. (P.) luridus sp. nov., S. (P.) menglianicus sp. nov., S. (P.) obliquophyllus sp. nov., S. (P.) paleaceus sp. nov., S. (P.) porcatus sp. nov., S. (P.) praecisus sp. nov., S. (P.) selliformis sp. nov., S. (P.) tropicus sp. nov., S. (P.) wudangensis sp. nov. and S. (P.) xiaoweishanus sp. nov. Two species, Scymnus (Pullus) godavariensis Miyatake, 1985 and Scymnus (Pullus) subvillosus (Goeze, 1777) are recorded from China for the first time. Diagnoses, detailed descriptions, illustrations and distributions are provided for each species. Key to the species groups of Scymnus (Pullus) from China and keys to the species of hingstoni group and subvillosus group are also given.

The genus Pseudaspidimerus Kapur, 1948 (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) from Laos, with descriptions of two new species

Abstract. The genus Pseudaspidimerus Kapur, 1948 is recorded from Laos for the first time, it includes three species. Two new species are described: P. toulakhomi sp. nov. and P. cornutus sp. nov.; P. rectangulatus (Kuznetsov & Pang, 1991) and P. serratus (Kuznetsov & Pang, 1991) are new synonyms of P. mauliki Kapur (syn. nov.). All species are described, illustrated and keyed.

The genus Aspidimerus Mulsant, 1850 (Coleoptera, Coccinellidae) from China, with descriptions of two new species

Abstract Chinese members of the genus Aspidimerus Mulsant, 1850 are reviewed. Ten species are recognized, including two new species: A. zhenkangicus Huo & Ren, sp. n. and A. menglensis Huo & Ren, sp. n. A. kabakovi Hoàng is recorded from China for the first time. A. blandus (Mader, 1954) is recognized as synonymous with A. ruficrus Gorham, 1895 (syn. n.). Aspidimerus rectangulatus Kuznetsov & Pang, 1991 and A. serratus Kuznetsov & Pang, 1991 are transferred to the genus Pseudaspidimerus Kapur, 1948 (comb. n.). All species from China are described and illustrated. Distribution maps of the Chinese species, a key and a catalogue of all known Aspidimerus are provided.

The genus Nesolotis Miyatake, 1966 (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) from China, with descriptions of eight new species

Abstract. Species of the genus Nesolotis Miyatake (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae: Sticholotidinae) endemic to China are reviewed, and the genus is removed from synonymy of Sticholotis Crotch. The following eight species are described as new to science: N. magnipunctata Wang et Ren, sp. nov., N. gladiiformis Wang et Ren, sp. nov., N. denticulata Wang et Ren, sp. nov., N. nigra Wang et Ren, sp. nov., N. centralis Wang et Ren, sp. nov., N. quadratimaculata Wang et Ren, sp. nov., N. cordiformis Wang, Ren et Chen, sp. nov. and N. daweishanensis Wang, Ren et Chen, sp. nov. A diagnosis of the genus and a key to known species from China are also provided.

The genera Exochomus Redtenbacher, 1843 and Parexochomus Barovsky, 1922 (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae: Chilocorini) from China, with descriptions of two new species

Abstract. Three species of the genus Exochomus Redtenbacher, 1843 and two species of the genus Parexochomus Barovsky, 1922 are documented from China, including two new species described here: E. rubistictus Li & Ren, sp. nov. and P. oligotrichus Li & Ren, sp. nov. A key to Chinese species, diagnoses, detailed descriptions, illustrations and distributions are given.

A New Genus of the Tribe Aspidimerini (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) from the Oriental Region

Abstract. Trigonocarinatus, a new genus of Aspidimerini with four new species, T. menghaiensis, T. ramus, T. gongshanus and T. cuneatus Huo et Ren, spp. nov. are described from the Oriental Region. Cryptogonus montanus Hoàng, 1985 is redescribed and transferred to the new genus (comb. nov.). A comparative account of the diagnostic characters of genera of Aspidimerini is provided with illustrations. A key to Chinese Trigonocarinatus species is provided.

A new species of the genus Phaenochilus Weise from China (Coleoptera, Coccinellidae, Chilocorini)

Abstract A new species Phaenochilus albomarginalis Li & Wang, sp. n. is described. The only other species recorded from China is Phaenochilus metasternalis Miyatake, 1970 and it is described here for comparison. Diagnoses, detailed descriptions, illustrations, and distributions are provided.

Revision of the subgenus Orthoscymnus Canepari of Scymnus Kugelann (Coleoptera, Coccinellidae), with descriptions of four new species.

Abstract The subgenus Orthoscymnus Canepari, 1997 of Scymnus Kugelann, 1794 is herein revised. Seven species of the Orthoscymnus fauna are recognized, of which four species, Scymnus (Orthoscymnus) jilongicus sp. n., Scymnus (Orthoscymnus) paradoxus sp. n., Scymnus (Orthoscymnus) crispatus sp. n. and Scymnus (Orthoscymnus) duomaculatus sp. n., are described as new to science. Scymnus (Orthoscymnus) rhododendri Canepari is recorded from China for the first time. Scymnus (Pullus) robustibasalis Yu is transferred to the subgenus Orthoscymnus (comb. n.). All species are diagnosed, described and illustrated, and distributions are provided for each species. A key to the species is included.
