The enantioselective organocatalytic phospha-Michael reaction of α,β-unsaturated aldehydes with diaryl phosphine oxides is explored for the first time using (S)-2-(diphenyl(trimethylsilyloxy)methyl)pyrrolidine as a catalyst. It afforded 1,4-addition adducts in good to excellent yields with up to 99% ee.

α,β‐Double Electrophilic Addition of Allene‐1,3‐Dicarboxylic Esters for the Construction of Polysubstituted Furans by KI/tert‐Butyl Hydroperoxide (TBHP)‐Promoted Oxidative Annulation

An unprecedented KI/tert-butyl hydroperoxide promoted tandem Michael addition/oxidative annulation of allene-1,3-dicarboxylic esters and 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds has been developed. This procedure provides a new, facile, and transition-metal-free synthetic approach to afford polysubstituted furans in moderate to excellent yields (up to 93u2009%). This method first establishes a α,β-double electrophilic reaction mode of allene-1,3-dicarboxylic esters to form 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds.

A highly efficient BF3·Et2O catalysed intramolecular [3+2] cycloaddition of tosylhydrazone with alkyne has been developed, and a variety of potentially bioactive 1,8-disubstituted-3,4-dihydrobenzopyrano[3,4-c]pyrazoles 7 were obtained with good to excellent yields of up to 93%.

Synthesis of 3-Methyl-2,6-dimethylbicyclo[3.3.1]nonane-exo-2,exo-6-diol

Abstract In this article, a new 2,6-dimethylbicyclo[3.3.1]nonane-exo-2, exo-6-diol derivative was designed and synthesized. First, the precursor compound (8) was prepared. Key intermediate dione compounds were obtained by reaction with iodomethane followed by hydrolysis and decarboxylation. Finally, methylation of the mixture of compounds 10a and 10b resulted in the formation of the title compound (5).
