Evaluation research of university's doctoral theses based on grey relational analysis

Kong Xiangpei; Xie Nai-ming

Due to objective conditions, it is difficult to collect detailed and accurate educational information. This situation directly affects accuracy of education evaluation. With these problems, the paper tries to evaluate the quality of universitys doctoral theses based on grey relational analysis. A case of Jiangsu Province doctoral theses evaluation is studied, and the results showed that grey relational analysis is useful in education evaluation.

Research on the new algorithms of simple grey numbers, complex grey numbers and multiple grey numbers

Xie Nai-ming; Liu Si-feng

Although grey systems theory has been successfully utilized in many fields and demonstrated promising results, literatures show its performance still could be improved. Remarks on grey number and algorithms of grey numbers need to be farther discussed. Grey number is the basic element of grey systems theory. The algorithms of grey numbers are the foundation of grey mathematics. This paper modifies the definition of grey number and discusses several remarks on grey number. We propose a method for abstracting information of grey number covered set. And we propose the algorithms of simple grey numbers, complex grey numbers and multiple grey numbers. All these works are meaningful to bring grey mathematics to perfection and propose more grey applying models.

Evaluation on economies of scale of higher education with grey relational model — A case in Heilongjiang province

Xi GuangMing; Xie Nai-ming; Liu Huilin; Zhao Qiuming

Economies of scale is an important index to measure regional higher education quality. Because of the limitations of objective conditions, it is hard to collect this kind of information thoroughly, completely and exactly. It affects the accuracy of educational evaluation directly. To solve such problems, this paper attempts to research the economies of scale of regional higher education with grey relational analysis, and to construct indices to evaluate the economies of scale of regional higher education, then takes 28 universities in Heilongjiang province as an example, and the results show that grey relational analysis is an effective model to solve this kind of problem.
