To qualitatively and quantitatively analyze the oral irritation caused by cigarette smoke, a set of buccal cavity simulator was designed. By taking eight carbonyl compounds(formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, acetone, acrolein, propionaldehyde, crotonaldehyde, 2-butanone and butyraldehyde) in cigarette smoke as research objects, the correlation of the eight carbonyl compounds in cigarette smoke with the irritation to tongue and palate in the simulated buccal cavity was analyzed through regulating the moisture content in cut tobacco via changing the equilibrious condition of cigarette, and coupling with cigarettes type. The results showed that: 1) The distribution of the eight carbonyl compounds in cigarette smoke on the tongue was comparable to that on the palate in the simulated buccal cavity. 2) The irritation to buccal cavity increased along with the increase of the carbonyl compounds in cigarette smoke as the moisture content in cut tobacco decreased. 3) The simple correlation analysis results indicated that the detected levels of acetaldehyde, acetone, propionaldehyde, crotonaldehyde, 2-butanone and butyraldehyde significantly correlated to oral irritation under standard conditions with the correlation coefficients higher than 0.81.

In order to investigate the influences of filling coefficient of tobacco in cylinder on the uniformity of tobacco casing,experiments were conducted at filling coefficients of 0.25,0.21,0.17,0.13 and 0.10,and the uniformity of casing and the stability of moisture content in cased strips at different filling coefficients were analyzed.The results showed that: 1) Filling coefficient affected casing uniformity to a certain extent.Within the range from 0.13 to 0.25,the casing uniformity increased with the decrease of filling coefficient,but decreased when the filling coefficient was less than 0.13.2) Within the range from 0.13 to 0.25,the effects of filling coefficient on the stability of moisture content in output strips were negligible.However,the stability of moisture content would become worse when the filling coefficient was less than 0.13.

For characterizing the flavoring uniformity in tobacco primary processing,a marker was screened by comparing the determined results of aromatic components in tobacco flavor samples with the volatile and semi-volatile aromatic components in cut tobacco before and after flavoring.The marker was quantitatively detected,and the influences of specimen size,sampling frequency and sampling interval on the content of marker were studied.The result showed that: 1) sclareolide(SER) was selected as a preferable marker,and a method for SER analysis was established,whose repeatability and average recovery were 3.63% and 95.95%-106.45%,respectively;2) statistics analysis showed that the better sampling parameters were: sample size 30 g,30 samplings at an interval of 60 s;3) the flavoring uniformity coefficients at the output ends of flavoring cylinder,cut tobacco storing room and cigarette maker were 90.05%,91.55% and 92.42%,respectively,which indicated that after flavoring,the distribution of flavor in cut tobacco was more uniform.

A method for analyzing lead(Pb) and arsenic(As) in water-based adhesives for cigarette was developed by microwave digestion-graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry.The results of tested samples showed that: under the optimized conditions,in the linear ranges of 0-50 μg/L(Pb) and 0-20 μg/L(As),the linear coefficients,limits of detection,relative standard deviations(RSDs),and recoveries were 0.9992 and 0.9995,0.075 and 0.037 mg/kg,6.77% and 9.86%,87.97%-92.35% and 93.37%-108.92%,respectively.The contents of Pb and As were less than 5 and 1 mg/kg,respectively.The method was suitable for the quantitative analysis of lead and arsenic in water-based adhesives for cigarette.

In order to evaluate the consistency of cigarettes manufactured by different factories,cigarette characteristics,such as weight,TPM,CO,moisture content,nicotine and tar were compared,and the degree of agreement between cigarettes was characterized by similarity. The results showed that: 1) for cigarettes of brand M manufactured by factory A and factory B,the intrafactory similarity between different lots was 0.78 and 0.85,respectively,while the interfactory similarity was only 0.34;2) for cigarettes of brand N manufactured by factory B and factory C,the intrafactory similarity between different lots was 0.86 and 0.76,respectively,while the interfactory similarity was only 0.11;3) for cigarettes of brand H manufactured by factory A and factory C,the intrafactory similarity between different lots was 0.89 and 0.91,respectively,while the interfactory similarity was only 0.08;4) the consistency of cigarettes manufactured by different factories could be accurately and objectively evaluated by analyzing the degree of agreement between cigarettes with multi-feature similarity.
