Human-computer interface design for an in-vehicle information system

In-vehicle information system (IVIS) is an important component of urban traffic flow guidance system (UTFGS). It consists of an input device, data storage, a driver information display monitor, processing modules, a voice synthesizer module and a communication module. Human-computer interface (HCI) is the comprehensive environment of manipulating IVIS. It is also the media of delivering and exchanging information between the driver and IVIS. A good HCI can minimize the drivers distraction, assure the drivers safety, and improve the efficiency of the human-computer interaction.

Study on the shortest path algorithm based on fluid neural network of in-vehicle traffic flow guidance system

The shortest path algorithm is critical for dynamic traffic assignment (DTA) and for the realization of route guidance in ITS. In order to implement the guidance function quickly and accurately, this paper introduces the fluid neural network (FNN) and develops a new parallel method based on FNN and genetic algorithm (GA) for route guidance. A sub-searching process and parameter optimization are employed to improve the performance of FNN. It is indicated by simulation that this method can be used to find the shortest route quickly from the original node to destination node in traffic networks.

Due to the sudden, diversity and harmful of the emergency, Chinas traffic emergency response are facing a lot of difficult, such as lacking decision-making experience, lack of decision-making information, tight for making decision. A decision support system was established for the city traffic emergency control based on Expert system. And the structure of the system was described in detail, focusing on the establishing ways of knowledge base and inference engine. In the emergency incident, the system can formulate strategies of traffic control quickly and effectively, and will enhance our countrys traffic management for emergency greatly.

Multi-agent urban expressway control system based on generalized knowledge-based model

In this paper, the multi-agent urban expressway control system based on generalized knowledge-based model is put forward according to the characteristic of urban expressway. It is designed by adopting AI (artificial intelligence) technology, auto-control technology and generalized knowledge-based model, and its structure is analyzed. Its properties include among others self-study, adaptiveness, self-optimize, co-operation etc., which makes it suitable for timely response to incidents, reducing traffic accident, moderating traffic congestion, increasing the capacity of the whole network, enhancing the benefits of vehicles operation and realizing the optimization of the whole control system.

A real-time isoparametric traffic volume prediction model based on the Kalman filtering theory

In this paper, a traffic volume prediction model is formulated through Kalman filtering theory. The traffic volumes of the next time interval are forecasted with the detected data collected in Changchun, China, which shows that the prediction model has good performance in real-time prediction.

Study on Wide Range's Traffic Control System Information Platform Based on Mobile Agent

The wide rang’s traffic control system manages various traffic subsystems which has different structure and function, its information platform is a typical heterogeneous distributed system. In order to integrate these traffic subsystems, a mutual information platform needs to be established and the Mobile Agent technology provides a new method of building the information platform. This paper first analysed the functions of the wide rang’s traffic control system, then expatiate advantages of applying the Mobile Agent technology in wide range’s traffic control system information platform. Raise the framework of the information platform based on Mobile Agent, and establish the structure of Mobile Agent. The primary motivation for this research is to explore a new, innovative approach to built a wide rang’s traffic control system information platform in the future.

Research on traffic signal cycle optimization method based on bi-level programming model

Aiming at the deficiencies of the traffic signal cycle optimization in the regional traffic signal control system and considering vehicle emission pollution, this paper proposed a traffic signal cycle optimization method based on bi-level programming model, and attempted to take reducing vehicle emission as one of the signal control objective parameters. Then the improved PSO algorithm was proposed to solve the optimization model. Finally, the effectiveness of the optimization model and the algorithm was verified through VISSIM and MATLAB. The results indicate that the traffic signal cycle optimization method proposed in this paper can effectively reduce the network delay and vehicle emission.

In this paper, it is mainly analyzes the significance of cooperation and summarizes the related researches. While, this paper puts forward the aims for some problems of cooperation. Under the director of these aims, this paper constructs a cooperation architecture on the basis of intelligent and cooperative information technique and establishes a series of cooperation models with different objective functions. Then, it makes a description of the test road network and the simulation environment. Some simulation results are brought out to prove the feasibility of the whole cooperation architecture and compare different models. At last, a best cooperation model is advised to be applied in practice.

Research on evaluation indexes for emergency-based urban traffic network

Considering emergencies factors on the impact of road network, the author puts forward the evaluation index of traffic state for the description the road traffic congestion under emergency condition, while compares analysis of the network traffic congestion sensitivity by using of the VHT/VKT method. Then, through the software VISSIM to make simulation and verification, and the results indicates the evaluation index system can be real-time accurately judge road traffic state. Meanwhile, it can get the profile of intersection and network congestion degree, which provide auxiliary decision support for emergency traffic evacuation and rescue.
