Media streaming services are becoming extremely popular for end users with mobile devices. Peer-to-peer networking may be the solution to provide efficient streaming services for a large number of concurrent users without infrastructure. The client-server model costs a lot of money to manage and control and client heterogeneity also reduces the overall performance in mobile environments. Peer-to-peer technology can solve this problem and give satisfaction to end users. The technology gives more efficient and scalable solutions than the client-server model. In order to provide live media streaming using peer-to-peer services in mobile environments, a more resilient and cost-effective algorithm to maintain the tree topology is required. In this paper, we provide an adaptive peer-to-peer algorithm for live media streaming in mobile environments. The algorithm uses a minimum parent switching operation using hop count distance to improve the overall performance of the peer tree. We show how the algorithm works for parent selection and peer ordering to enhance the overall performance in the group.

Within the NGN architecture, the resource and admission control functions (RACF) act as the arbitrator between service control functions and transport functions for QoS related transport resource control within access and core networks. The decision is based on transport subscription information, SLAs, network policy rules, service priority and transport resource status and utilization information. This paper provides a mechanism for resource control and functional architecture of overlay multicast for IPTV service in NGN.

User centric media service is about the user itself becoming the major media producer and distributor, and about exploiting this media created by different citizens at different moments of time to generate a co-created application. In this paper, we propose an architectural model of service overlay networking platform for future user-centric networking. Our platform composes a dynamic service overlay network for P2P service user using DSON(Dynamic Service Overlay Network). The composed services for a user enhance its abilities and capabilities more than common service network. So this mechanism improves the efficiency of transport network and QoS sensitive services such as IPTV, A/V conferencing, VoIP and so on.
