Working characteristic of the permanent magnet (PM) is a key point of PM relays design. Soft magnetic material and coil will effect the working characteristic of PM. In order to analyze the effect of coil, a combined three-subsection PM in close magnetic circuit model (CTPMC) is built based on the equivalent magnetic circuit, and its theoretical model is established under the magnetic potential effect. Through the theoretical deduction, it is concluded that each PM subsection works at different recoil lines and the working points would change due to the effect of coil. Finally, the above theoretical analysis results are validated by simulation and experiments.

The traditional reliability assessment methods for electromagnetic relay (EMR) are based on censored failure-time data, which provides very little reliability information. Furthermore, this method may be unavailable in applications with few or no failures. Actually, many time parameters of electromagnetic relay, such as closing time, over-travel time provide an obvious degradation process during the life test. By testing time parameters of EMR during its life circle, this paper presents a novel reliability assessment method of EMR based on multiple time parameters degradation and multiple failure mechanism. Considering the difference of EMR degradation, regression analysis method and time series method are employed to build the degradation model of time parameters for EMR. Then, multiple degradation parameters reliability assessment model which can evaluate the reliability of all failure mechanisms is developed with stochastic theory.

With miniaturization development of switching mode power supply, electro-thermal interaction inside the power supply cannot be ignored. Realization of electro-thermal coupling simulation involves multiple software interfaces and automatic calling. There is a lack of usable integrated software platform at present, which has restricted application of electro-thermal coupling in switching mode power supply simulation analysis and optimization. This paper studies electro-thermal coupling simulation technology of switching mode power supply via the relaxation method. Based on this, it sets up an electro-thermal coupling simulation software platform of switching mode power supply through secondary development of Isight. Moreover, by taking a light-emitting diode (LED) driver as an example, simulation analysis and optimization are conducted by utilizing the established platform.
