Optimum Size Analysis for Dam Rehabilitation Using Reliability Analysis

This paper presents a procedure of evaluation of reservoir capacity for additional water storage for dam rehabilitation. One of the techniques on the extension of rainfall has been developed, and the daily stream flows were simulated by the NWS-PC long-term rainfall-runoff model with the input of the extended daily rainfall which was stochastically generated by the nonhomogeneous markov chain model. We peformed a reliability analysis to Guisan dam about the optimal capacity of dam rehabilitation by using performance criteria that Hashimoto et al. (1982) presented. We estimated that the most suitable water level is approximately 155EL.M. suggested that this method can use supplemental methods to estimate optimum dam scale.

A Study on the Hydrologic Decision-Making for Drought Management : 1. An Analysis on the Stochastic Behavior of PDSI using markov chain

The purposes of this study are to perform the management and monitoring of droughts for Mokpo area via the monthly Palmer index(PDSI), the data is obtained from the Mokpo meteorological station, and the used data are in the period of 1906 to 1999. Monthly Palmer index is classified into 7 stochastic classes and its dynamic change of monthly transition probability estimated by Markov chain is investigated. We also estimate the steady state probability of the classified PDSI. The 4th class shows the highest frequency of 49.6% out of 7 classes and the 7th class which is the most extreme drought show that a stochastic transition probability is more or less larger than an empirical one. Also, we found that the monthly steady state probability could be used for the forecasting of changing pattern of drought magnitude for the study area.ヨ⨀ጊ切Ѐ㔱〻Ԁ䭃䑎䴀

An Assessment on the Geographical Boundary of Hydrometeorologic Changes due to Dam Construction

본 연구에서는 댐 건설 전후 수문기상자료의 변화에 대해 분석하고, 댐 건설이 국지 수문기상변화에 미치는 영향과 그 영향 범위에 대해 알아보았다. 모형화를 통해 댐 건설 전후의 수문기상변화에 대한 정량화를 수행하고자 하였으며, 댐의 영향 정도를 시공간적으로 정량화 할 수 있는 모형을 개발하였다. 개발된 모형은 섬진강댐, 소양강댐, 안동댐, 충주댐 등에 적용하였으며, 실제 댐 건설로 인한 수문기상학적 영향이 미치는 한계 범위를 파악하였다. 댐의 범위별로 산정된 알베도와 재순환계수의 상관관계를 분석한 결과 댐 건설 후 격자별 알베도와 재순환계수는 상당히 높은 상관관계(상관계수 0.88)를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 댐 건설에 따른 토지이용의 변화가 궁극적으로 수분의 재순환에 큰 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 평가되었다. 또한, 수문기상학적 영향범위와 댐 건설 후 생성되는 저수면적과 비교를 통해 저수면적과 영향범위는 밀접한 관계가 있음을 알 수 있었으며, 신규 댐의 건설시에 댐 건설로 생성이 예상되는 저수면적을 이용해서 수문기상학적 영향의 범위를 추정할 수 있을 것으로 판단되었다. 【This study analyzes hydrometeorologic changes after a dam construction, and develops a model related to estimating the geographical boundary hour far hydrometeorologic changes could happen due to a dam construction. The model is applied to several dams, namely Seomjin Dam, Soyang Dam, Andong Dam, and Chungju Dam. Throughout estimating the correlation between albedo and recycling coefficients, the result confirms that the land use changes by dam construction are the critical factor on the recycling of the water in the air. It is also shown that the geographical boundary is highly related to the surface area of a dam. Finally, this model is expected to be applied to estimate its boundary of hydrometeorologic changes by a new dam construction.】
