Pattern for capital and knowledge accumulation in the technology-based firms

To realize self-reliant innovation, competencies and dynamic capabilities must be built at the firm level. The experiences of leading companies show the importance of the combination and organization of present and future sets of technological competencies. As a developing country, the process of competencies accumulation in China is different from those countries that are scientifically and technologically more advanced. The elements of competencies in Chinese firms should be drawn by the practical situation. Thus in this paper, the authors provide a new framework for competencies accumulation for Chinese firms, then, based on the case studies on technology-based firms to verify their findings, several policy suggestions are also provided to those technology-based firms.
