液体クロマトグラフィーにおけるアミノ酸の検出に二次電量的検出法を応用した.すなわち,銅を作用電極として用い,銅のアミノ酸錯体を生成する反応を応用して種々のアミノ酸の検出を行なった.グリシンのように,二種以上の錯体がほぼ同程度の安定度定数をもって生成するアミノ酸では,その検量線は曲線となるが,大部分のアミノ酸は銅1個に2個つく錯体を形成し,その検量線はおよそ10-6mol以上でほぼ直線となり,また,おおよそ理論値と一致した.しかし,その検出下限は高く,微量のアミノ酸の検出法としては適しているとはいいがたい方法であった.
