1. 標準試料の入手が困難であったのは, 化学分析業務の1/3の分野に集中していた. 入手困難な標準試料の内訳をみると, 食品化学分野が40%, 環境化学分野で19%, 薬品化学分野で14%を占めていた.2. 公的な標準試料配布センターの設立が望まれ, 回答の80%がセンターの設置の必要を認めた. 半数は東京と大阪の双方にそれぞれ1か所, 約40%はそのいずれか1か所でよいと答え, 他の候補地として, 名古屋市や仙台市の名も挙がった.3. 公的なセンターの業務として, (1) 化学製品製造業者から標準試料をセンターに寄託させること, (2) 適正価格で標準試料を配布すること, (3) 標準試料の純度を保証することが期待された.
