Effects of visual and conversation tasks upon a functional visual field while driving

Effects of visual task and/or conversation task on functional visual field (FVF) during driving was studied experimentally. Red or pink circular target was briefly presented somewhere on a movie scene from drivers view in a car following situation, and the observers task was to indicate the target position. The visual task loaded on the observer was to read out the two alphabet letters presented in the center of the visual field. The conversation task was to answer an easy question orally. The FVF narrowed with the visual task as well as with the conversation task, while it markedly shrinked when both visual and conversation task were imposed simultaneously.

Virtualized stomach wall and its deformation model

In this paper we try to construct the model of stomach wall from stomach X-ray CT images for making the virtualized stomach. We extract the set of control points from CT image and define their deforming factors. These factors consist of the elasticity of stomach wall, the air pressure inside stomach and the pressure given from the organs around the stomach. In results, generation of abstract form of deformed stomach is achieved.

Visualization of three-dimensional stomach shapes for virtual observation

Abstract Double contrast radiography provides a detailed information of stomach inner-fold patterns that are very important to diagnose stomach. Taking a good quality of this radiograph is difficult because radiologists have to control many things during inspection time. We propose a virtualized stomach and its deformation method based on the approximation of physical features around the stomach. We use both X-ray TV images and external appearances of the subject while taking X-ray images, to transform the shapes of virtualized stomach. Several types of simulated results are presented.
