The Research of Mathematical Model of Six-Phase Double Y-Coil Synchronous Motor Based on Vector Control

According to the technical requirement of 200 kW six-phase double Y-coil synchronous motor which is used for electric propulsion system on ship, the mathematical model of the motor by dq-coordinate is established. Based on the analysis of the motors characteristics, a new simplified mathematical model is proposed in this paper. Then in order to gain the mathematical model applicable to the vector control, a transform is made that the equivalent cylindrical rotor is used instead of the model of salient-pole rotor, and the mathematical modal is converted from dq-coordinate into MT-coordinate. In order to verify this model, the vector control system of the motor with propeller load based on the air gap flux linkage control is established and simulated by MATLAB/SIMULINK. The experimental results show that the designed scheme of vector control system is feasible and effective, and the simplified model is validated and accordant with the model before simplified. In addition, the analysis difficulty and computing time are reduced by the proposed model which provides a general method to establish mathematical model for other Y-coil motors with different phases as well.
