Abstract This study was performed to identify the effect of mixed bed soil on growth of aerial parts and root zone of daughter plants for nursery field strawberry seedling raising with expanded chaff. The plant height and leaf area of daughter plants were highest or largest in the mixed soil of ERH +RH (100:0, v/v), followed by ERH+RH (75:25). The higher the mixing ratio of RH, the shorter the plant height or the smaller the leaf area. A similar tendency was observed in fresh weight. Within a root diameter of 0-0.4 mm and a root height range of 0.4-0.8 mm, root surface area and volume were statistically significantly better with treatment of ERH+RH (100:0, v/v) compared to those of roots treated with ERH+RH (75:25), ERH+RH (50:50) and ERH+RH (25:75). The growth rate of aerial parts and root zone of daughter plants were noticeably lower in two mixing ratios of 50:50 and 25:75. According to the mixing ratios of ERH+CD surface treatment, the number of roots was greatest in plants treated with ERH+CD (80:20, v/v) and ERH+CD (85:15) on August 1. However, the number of roots was highest in plants treated with ERH+CD (85:15, v/v) on August 15. Root length was longest in the plant with no treatment, and drastically shortened from ERH+CD (90:10, v/v) in both surface and mixed treatment. Although root weight showed a significant difference in ERH+CD (90:10, v/v) treatment, its increase was gradual. The rate of root growth was highest in ERH+CD (85:15). These study findings suggest that the content ratios of mixed soil ERH+RH (75:25, v/v) or below and ERH+CD (85:15) are thought to be desirable for the production of high quality seedlings.

Abstract This study was carried out to investigate the effect of KEM and SAF appication on contents change of fatty acids and organic acid of perilla(Perilla Frutescens Britton). Contenst of squalene in perilla leaves on control and KEM/SAF treated were 3.39 mg and 4.22 mg, respectively. Therefore the squalene quantity of KEM/SAF treated leaves was 24.2% more than that of control. A total 6 fatty acids in perilla leaves were analyzed in this study. Percentage of the saturated and unsaturated fatty acid in perilla leaves were 20 and 80%, respectively. Contents of phytosterols in perilla leaf such as campesterol and sitosterol were 2.0 and 20.0 mg, respectively. Therefore sitos-terol content was 10 fold more than that of campesterol. The KEM/SAF application on perilla leaf was effective on the change of squalene or phytosterol contents. However effect of that was negligible on the change of fatty acid content. Abstract This study was carried out to compare and analyze the effect of Korean effective microorganism(KEM) and seafood amino acid fertilizer(SAF) application on apple on functional substances of fruit. Vitamin C in fruit of control and KEM/SAF treated were 29.3 and, 39.8 ㎎ , respectively. Also active oxygen scavenging ability of those treatments measured with DPPH method were 40.6 and 54.1%, respectively. Vitamin E contents of those treatments were 2.51 and 2.50 ㎎ , respectively. Sitosterol, a phytosterol, contents of those treatments were 4.79 and 5.41 ㎎ , respectively. Proportion of sugars, fructose, glucose, and sucrose in the fruit of control were 36.1, 15.3 and 17.8%, respectively. Those of the fruit of KEM/SAF treated were 45.9, 13.2 and 18.8%, respectively. Malic acid contents of control and KEM/SAF treated fruits were 53.7 and 43.8%, respectively.Key Words :Korean effective microorganisms, Seafood amino acid fertilizer, Vitamin, Phytosterol 1) 1. 서 론 농업이 친환경적인 산업으로 거듭나기 위해서는 수질과 토양 오염과 반환경적 요소들을 극복해야 된다. 농약과 화학비료 등에 의한 지하수 오염은 농업생

Young-Chil Kim; Seoung-Won Ann; Tae-Ju Kang; Gab-Soon Park

This study was aimed to determine the effect of basal application of Effective Microorganisms (EM) on the grow and yield of cucumber. For treatments, the EM was applied to soil with fertilizer composed with N-P2O5-K2O-manure (24.0-16.4-23.8-2,000kg) in the 1.0 strength (defined as EM+1S), 2/3 strength (defined as EM+2/3S), 1/2 strength (defined as EM+1/2S), without fertilizer (defined as EM), or only fertilizer in the 1.0 strength (defined as 1S). In result, there was no significant differences of organic substance content and pH with the EM treatment. While the EC (Electric conductivity) concentration was decreased, plant-available P (phosphorus) was markedly increased. Chlorophyll content was highest in the treatment of EM+standard application rate for both semi-forcing and retarding culture. In contrast, no significant difference was found in plant height and internode length under the fertilizer treatment. Weekly harvested number of cucumber was highest at the treatment of EM+standard application for the semi-forcing culture, while it was 3.6 at the EM+1/2 application for the retarding culture. Weekly yield was greatest at the EM+standard application treatment and decreased with the decrease of fertilizer application rate. In addition, weekly yield was significantly reduced in the treatment of EM . There was no significant difference in yields by production time with the fertilizer applications?. Yield was increased with temperature for the semi-forcing culture, while consistent pattern was maintained for the retarding culture.

Abstract Available phosphorus(P 2 O 5 ) in conventionally cultivated soil was more abundant in two fold than that of organically cultivated soil. Relative density of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) was higher in organically cultivated soil, That of welsh onion cultivated soil was the highest, that of strawberry was followed and then that of pepper, respectively. Relative density of AMF was inversely proportioned to available soil phosphorus. Phosphorus content of crop and relative density of AMF were more abundant in organically cultivated crop or soil. However available soil phosphorus content was much in conventionally cultivated soil. The phosphorus contents between soil and crop were negatively correlated. The phosphorus content of crop was increased as the relative density of AMF increased. Relative density of AMF in the organically cultivated soil and phosphorus content of the crop with organic cultivation were higher than those of conventionally cultivated. Key Words : conventional cultivation, organic cultivation, AMF (Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi)

The Yellow River delta is an important region where coastal and newly formed wetlands distribute in north China. Based on satellite remote sensing images and GIS techniques, this paper tends to delineate the dynamic changes of newly formed wetland in the Yellow River mouth from 1986.5 to 1996.10. Our results show that the newly formed wetland increased by 24.9 per year. Before 1990. 1 and it decreased by 2.40 per year after that. The northern and southwestern parts of the Yellow River mouth are main positions of decrease and the southern and the estuary parts are main positions of increase. The advancing rate of river mouth extending into the Bo Sea is decreasing obviously. The reason for that is the decreasing of water and sediments in the Yellow River, which caused by the increasing use of water and soil conservation on upper reach.
