Chaotic Phenomena in Addiction Model for Digital Leisure

Young-Chul Bae

Chaotic dynamics have been studied by many researchers in the fields of biology, physics, and engineering. Interest in chaos is also expanding to the social sciences such as politics, economics, and others, including the prediction of societal events. The concept of leisure has developed from a passive concept correlated with relaxation, entertainment, and ideology formation into a positive concept that assumes a more active role. As information and communications technology develops, digital leisure activity is expected to continue spreading. This expansion of digital leisure function correctly, as well as. Traditional leisure activity functions correctly more, whereas digital leisure activity is predicted to function incorrectly more often. In this paper, we propose a mathematical addiction model of digital leisure that deals with its dysfunctions such as addiction to digital leisure, including computer games, internet search, internet chatting, and social media. Herein, to solve addiction to digital leisure, we propose a model derived from a nicotine addiction.

Chaotic Dynamics in Tobacco`s Addiction Model

Young-Chul Bae

Chaotic dynamics is an active area of research in biology, physics, sociology, psychology, physiology, and engineering. This interest in chaos is also expanding to the social scientific fields such as politics, economics, and argument of prediction of societal events. In this paper, we propose a dynamic model for addiction of tobacco. A proposed dynamical model originates from the dynamics of tobacco use, recovery, and relapse. In order to make an addiction model of tobacco, we try to modify and rescale the existing tobacco and Lorenz models. Using these models, we can derive a new tobacco addiction model. Finally, we obtain periodic motion, quasi-periodic motion, quasi-chaotic motion, and chaotic motion from the addiction model of tobacco that we established. We say that periodic motion and quasi-periodic motion are related to the pre-addiction or recovery stage, respectively. Quasi-chaotic and chaotic motion are related to the addiction stage and relapse stage, respectively.

Mathematical Modelling and Chaotic Behavior Analysis of Cyber Addiction

Myung-mi Kim; Young-Chul Bae

Addiction can be largely divided into two categories. One is called medium addiction in which medium itself causes an addiction. Another is called cause addiction that brings addiction through combination of sensitive self and latent personal action. The medium addiction involves addiction phenomena directly caused by illegal drugs, alcohol and various other chemicals. The cause addiction is dependent on personal sensitivities as a sensitive problem of personal and includes cyber addictions such as shopping, work, game, internet, TV, and gambling. In this paper we propose two-dimensional addiction model that are equivalent to using an R-L-C series circuit of Electrical circuit and a Spring-Damper-mass of mechanical system. We also organize a Duffing equation that is added a nonlinear term in the proposed two-dimensional addiction model. We represent periodic motion and chaotic motion as time series and phase portrait according to parameter’s variation. We confirm that among parameters chaotic motion had addicted state and periodic motion caused by change in control coefficient had pre-addiction state.

Young-Chul Bae; Juwan Kim; Yigon Kim; Young-Woo Shon

In this paper, We introduce an embedding driven synchronization method using SC-CNN(State-Controlled Cellular Neural Network) which has the purpose to secure communication method through the embedding driven synchronization method in the SC-CNN. we proposed new embedding driven synchronization that this method is only using one state variable compare to the general driven synchronization methods which is using all state variables. In this paper, We achieved the usage of embedding driven synchronization and we also applied it to secure communication.

Synchronization of Dynamical Happiness Model

Young-Chul Bae

Chaotic dynamics is an active research area in fields such as biology, physics, sociology, psychology, physiology, and engineering. Interest in chaos is also expanding to the social sciences, such as politics, economics, and societal events prediction. Most people pursue happiness, both spiritual and physical in many cases. However, happiness is not easy to define, because people differ in how they perceive it. Happiness can exist in mind and body. Therefore, we need to be happy in both simultaneously to achieve optimal happiness. To do this, we need to synchronize mind and body. In this paper, we propose a chaotic synchronization method in a mathematical model of happiness organized by a second-order ordinary differential equation with external force. This proposed mathematical happiness equation is similar to Duffing’s equation, because it is derived from that equation. We introduce synchronization method from our mathematical happiness model by using the derived Duffing equation. To achieve chaotic synchronization between the human mind and body, we apply an idea of mind/body unity originating in Oriental philosophy. Of many chaotic synchronization methods, we use only coupled synchronization, because this method is closest to representing mind/body unity. Typically, coupled synchronization can be applied only to non-autonomous systems, such as a modified Duffing system. We represent the result of synchronization using a differential time series mind/body model.

Pemphigus foliaceus induced by an angiotensin II receptor blocker

Young-Chul Bae; S. J. Yun; Sungkoo Lee; Geon Tae Park; Ju-Hwan Lee

A 76‐year‐old Korean woman presented with pruritic erythematous vesicles and crusted plaques over her entire body. She had been taking an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) (candesartan) for 2 months before developing the skin lesions. The patients was diagnosed with pemphigus foliaceus based on the clinical and immunopathological criteria, including intra‐epidermal bulla on skin histopathology, intercellular deposit of C3 and IgG on direct immunofluorescence, and autoantibodies to the 160‐kDa antigen on both immunoblot and ELISA. The medication was changed to another antihypertensive agent and the patient was treated with prednisolone for 2 months. The vesiculobullous skin lesions gradually disappeared. However, the skin lesions reappeared 2 months after starting a different ARB (telmisartan). This case illustrates the importance of taking a complete drug history in patients who present with bullous diseases. Furthermore, ARBs should be added to the list of nonthiol drugs that can possibly induce pemphigus.
