This paper presents an implementation case study for business-centric SOA test framework. The reference architecture of SOA system is usually layered: business process layer, service layer, and computing resource layer. In the architecture, there are so many subsystems to affect system performance, moreover they relate with each other. As a result, in the respect of overall performance, it is usually meaningless to measure each subsystems performance separately. In SOA system, the performance of the business process layer with which users keep in contact depends on the summation of the performance of the other lower layers. Therefore, measuring performance of the business layer includes indirect measurement of the other SOA system layers. We devised a business-centric SOA test framework in which activities and control primitives in business process managers are simulated to invoke commands or services in a test scenario. That is, in the test framework, a real business process scenario can be replaced to a mimicked business process test scenario, which is executed in a test proxy based on event mechanism. In this paper, we present the concept of BPA simulation, 2-layered test suites model, and reference architecture.

This paper presents the design principle for integrating quality management on Web service registry developed in UDDI specification and Web service quality management system (WSQMS). WSQMS, developed by NIA can measure and collect the quality information of Web services by its agency system installed on the Web service system. Web service registry is core system for registering and searching WSDL(Web service description language). On the registry, there are no methods that users search Web services on the basis of quality information because the registry is operating without any relationship of WSQMS. So, it is required an integration method where WSQMS and registries share the quality data on the basis of classified quality data. For representing Web service quality information, we adopted the WSQDL (Web service quality description language), which published by WSQM technical committee in OASIS. In more detail, this paper also presents the scheme to compose the classification scheme for quality data and to modify the necessary data structure of the registry.

WSQM TC, an OASIS technical committee for web service quality model, published the Web services quality model (WSQM) which models and explains the quality factor, quality action, and quality associates for Web services. WSQM focuses on the classification and definition of quality factors and activities of associates conceptually. As the coverage of Web services expands and implementation cases of them increase, the importance of the method which applies the quality model to real world practically grows up to make it easy communicating the information of quality of Web services. This research report presents the method describing the quality factors of Web services and SOA normally and quantitatively. For this, we adopt the standard XML schema as the framework for describing Web services quality. This report provides briefly the WSQM which is basis of WSQDL (Web Services Quality Description Language) and explains the considerations, the concept of quality chain, the overall structure of WSQDL, and items of WSQDL. The followings are the summary of the report.

As the web service technology matures, research starts to focus on the composite web services that combine individual web services within an enterprise or between enterprises. Quality of service (QoS) is a critical competitiveness factor in this mature technology stage where there are many services with similar functionalities differing only in some non-functional properties. Monitoring is the key component for the service quality management of a web service. A service quality monitoring system design using a broker is presented in this paper. OWL-S is used to specify the composite service process and a service policy (inputs and outputs of each service, quality attributes and values, etc.) built by WS-policy is applied to the composite service process. If there is any discrepancy between the service policy and the monitored data, the service provider and the user are notified of it so as to take necessary measures. We have implemented a travel reservation system as an example of the presented design and the experimental results are shown. Average response time was monitored and the timeout policy was applied in the experiment.

Recently, a lot of companies are increasingly introducing cloud services for digital records management. The cloud services can dramatically lower the cost of archiving and managing digital records and provides a foundation for resilient management of digital records management, depending on the circumstances of the enterprise. However, due to the nature of service provided by third parties in the cloud, conflicting the nature of digital records and the intrinsic risks inherent in the cloud, many companies are reluctant to apply the cloud to their digital records management right away. In this paper, we analyze the risk factors of the digital records in the cloud services and discuss some alternative models to solve them.

In order to enhance the success rate of research and development, various systems, which analyze and verify the value of technologies developed by private and public companies, have been developed. Recently, the methodologies analyzing the trend of future technology are being actively studied. Especially, the studies, which explore future technology in the huge patent documents, which can be said a treasure house of technology information, are increasing. However, the existing systems for it have limitation issues in performance and accuracy. In order to complement the existing methods, this study approaches patent documents by technology-unit instead of utilizing related information by patent-unit. This study draws core keywords through data mining and suggests a method detecting user defined technology trend discovery (UDTTD). As the result, this study developed a research and development integrated information provision system for small and medium-sized companies and an actual application case of the system on a medium-sized company is presented herewith.
