Design and implementation of Mobile Trusted Module for trusted mobile computing

This paper presents the design and implementation of a Mobile Trusted Module (MTM), which should satisfy small area and low-power condition. Unlike the general Trusted Platform Module (TPM) for PCs, the MTM, that is to be employed in mobile devices, has very stringent limitations with respect to available power, circuit area and so on. Therefore, MTM needs the spatially-optimized architecture and design method. We firstly introduce the design requirements for MTM and then implement a compact and power efficient MTM chip based-on the introduced requirements. The designed MTM can support all the necessary functions for trusted computing using 400K logic gates and consumes at most 10mA.

Full-parallax virtual view image synthesis using image-based rendering for light-field content generation

Light-field content is required to provide full-parallax 3D view with dense angular resolution. However, it is very hard to directly capture such dense full-parallax view images using a camera system because it requires specialised micro-lens arrays or a heavy camera-array system. Therefore, we present an algorithm to synthesise full-parallax virtual view images using image-based rendering appropriate for light-field content generation. The proposed algorithm consists of four-directional image warping, view image blending using the nearest view image priority selection and the sum of the weighted inverse Euclidean distance, and hole filling. Experimental results show that dense full-parallax virtual view images can be generated from sparse full-parallax view images with fewer image artefacts. Finally, it is confirmed that the proposed full-parallax view synthesis algorithm can be used for light-field content generation without a dense camera array system.

A Method of Stereoscopic 3D Image Quality Assessment

For objective assessment of stereoscopic 3D image quality, we measure quality of left and right image with 2D image quality measurement method. However, this method is inconvenient because that we have to measure quality of left and right image individually. Therefore we propose a method of stereoscopic 3D image quality assessment using one overlaid image with left and right image. Using this method, One can measure quality of stereoscopic 3D image more easily and quickly. Keyword : stereoscopic, 3D, image quality assessment

An efficient inverse multiplier/divider architecture for cryptography systems

There is a vast market for cryptography, in which one of the major design concerns is to speed up the execution of encryption and decryption. It is known that the quality (in terms of speed and area) of the cryptography systems is determined by how the inversion/division operators are implemented efficiently. In this paper, we propose a new arithmetic computation architecture for Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) system, which increases efficiency for inverse multiplier/divider. Specifically, we propose a new architectural design approach for inversion/division operators of ECC, which is suitable for portable embedded cryptography systems, by placing the minimization of circuit area as the primary design objective. From experiments using a set of benchmark design, it is shown that our approach is effective and efficient using less circuit area (20% for inverter/37% for divider) than that of the architecture produced by conventional methods.
