New approach to use polarimetry for turbulence intensity estimate is proposed. It is based on estimation of the energetic characteristics of turbulent polarization spectrum. The proposed approach can be realized as a radar system that allows estimating the energetic characteristics of a set of polarization components of the received radar signal. The layout of a radar system for polarization components estimation is developed. Such approach can increase the informativity of weather radar systems relatively to obtaining information about factors that are the origin of changing polarization of reflected signal.

In this paper, forces and processes in the atmosphere that lead to drop deformation and vibration are considered. The expression that allows to define the reflected radar signal power redistribution between electromagnetic wave polarization components received with orthogonal antennas of Doppler-Polarimetric radar is given. It is shown that the drop fission into two parts takes place at the moment when additional drop surface tension equals zero. This is used to calculate the critical wind speeds for drops of corresponding sizes and use them when wind related phenomena estimate with polarization characteristics of radar signal.

In this paper the polarimetric approach for wind phenomena detection and study is proposed and analyzed. The polarimetric estimation of turbulence intensity is made with single unipolarized antenna radar system. The statistical estimation of proposed method is made.

In this paper the analytical expression for correction on elevation angle of a radar signal is obtained. The comparison of the data of mathematical modeling with known experimental data of the same character is made.

In this paper the approach to estimate reflected signal depolarization due to turbulence with a single unipolarized antenna is considered. The approach allows to make estimate by current amplitude fluctuation in the receiving antenna due to changing the depolarization angle of reflected wave. The frequency characteristics of the sounding wave reflectors under the wind influence are analyzed and taken into account.

Possible mathematical models of atmospheric processes as a result of superposition of random and deterministic components of the wind shear vector in the air space under study are considered. Canonical decompositions are used. Methods of necessary measurable data and measurable parameter estimation as well as their separation are discussed. The state space method and an optimal stationary measuring system are suggested for data processing.
