Novel role for cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator in alveolar fluid clearance in lipopolysaccharide‐induced acute lung injury in mice

Weizhong Jin; Yuanlin Song; Chunxue Bai; Jinjun Jiang

Alveolar fluid clearance (AFC) is important for the resolution of acute lung injury (ALI). The role of cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) in AFC has not been entirely elucidated in animal models of ALI. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of CFTR and its mechanisms in AFC in normal and ALI mice.

Clinical Respiratory Journal | 2018

Efficacy of zinc given as an adjunct to the treatment of severe pneumonia: A meta-analysis of randomized, double-blind and placebo-controlled trials

Linlin Wang; Yuanlin Song

Pneumonia is a major cause of morbidity and mortality of children. Zinc is known to play a central role in the immune system. The deficiency of zinc increased susceptibility to infectious diseases.

Itisnot surprising that most natural disasters are associ-ated with respiratory disease due to inhalation ofvarious particles and noxious gases. This is especiallythecasewithambientmatterwithadiameterlessthan10 mm; a size of particle that can penetrate the distalairwayandwhichcantheninjureairwayandalveolarepithelial cells. These particles may well increase cellpermeability partially through induction of occludininternalization.
