Wireless sensor networks are integrated of sensor techniques, embedded system techniques, distributed computation techniques and wireless communication techniques. It’s a hot research area in the world. It will be widely used in agriculture. This paper introduces the hardware and software design of wireless sensor networks node for the measurement of greenhouse environment parameters. These nodes can form networks themselves, measure the environment parameters precisely, transfer data safely, and solve the difficulty of wiring in greenhouse, making the earlier research of wireless sensor networks used in greenhouse

Embedded Smart Camera in Measuring Area of Plant Leaves

In order to build a more compact, simple, mobile and reliable vision measurement system in plant physiological parameter measurement, we choose the smart camera and infrared light source as the principle components. The hardware architecture of smart camera and the software development process is described. An example of leaf area measurement algorithm is shown which include camera calibration section to establish the spatial relationship between leaf and camera. Special initialized a snake active contour is able to separate the leaf boundary from its petiole. With the extrinsic parameters and contour of leaf we can calculate the real area of leaf. Similarly, other useful plant physiological parameters such as the diameter of fruit, height of plant could be achieved with this system.

Research of Greenhouse Efficient Automatic Irrigation System Based on Evapotranspiration

Traditional water-saving irrigation management turns on water pump in a settled interval decided by grower’s experience. The method just saves water on the back of losing yield. In order to result the problem, a kind of greenhouse efficient irrigation management system based on Evapotranspiration has been developed. The system includes greenhouse environmental monitoring subsystem, irrigation analysis subsystem, control methods, can instruct users to irrigation greenhouse through quantitative calculating greenhouse crop water requirement. The system has been examined in greenhouses of ShengFangYuan Test Station in Beijing, China; the result shows that the system can instruct greenhouse irrigation efficiently, increase yield 18%, and save water 28%.

The Design of Portable Equipment for Greenhouse's Environment Information Acquirement Based on Voice Service

For settling the problem of acquiring environment parameters quickly and responding in time in greenhouse which has low ability of auto-controlling environment. This paper designed a voice service system which was used in greenhouse for environment information collecting. This equipment can acquire and analyze the parameters of temperature, humidity, illumination, dew point temperature, soil temperature, soil humidity. And it offered alarm and environ- ment controlling suggestion by voice. This equipment achieved data acquiring, storage, displaying and voice service by MCU msp430 and voice chip PM50S100. Expert knowledge which had simple decision logic was embedded in this system. This equipment offered simple voice service based on the collecting data in greenhouse. And it had advantages of convenience operation, low power consumption through the test in greenhouse.
