A new method for the synthesis of bishydroperoxides based on a reaction of ketals with hydrogen peroxide catalyzed by boron trifluoride complexes

Abstract A reaction of cycloalkanone, alkanone and alkyl aryl ketone ketals with H 2 O 2 catalyzed by boron trifluoride etherate and boron trifluoride–methanol complexes was studied. A new versatile method for the synthesis of bishydroperoxides and their derivatives, viz. 1,1′-dihydroperoxyperoxides and 1,2,4,5-tetraoxacyclohexanes, was developed based on this reaction.

A rearrangement of 1-hydroperoxy-2-oxabicycloalkanes into lactones of ω-acyloxy-(ω-3)-hydroxyalkanoic acids related to the Criegee reaction

Abstract 1-Hydroperoxy-2-oxabicyclo[ n .4.0]alkanes ( n =3, 4, 5 and 10) on heating with formic or acetic acid containing a catalytic amount of sulfuric acid undergo a rearrangement into lactones of ω-acyloxy-(ω-3)-hydroxyalkanoic acids by a mechanism related to the Criegee reaction.

Remote oxidation of carbonyl compounds in Na2S2O8-NaCN: Essentially simple approach to x- and δ-cyanoderivatives

Ketones and aldehydes are converted into x- and δ-cyanoketones or cyanoacids in one-pot reaction of the remote oxidative cyanation with Na2S3O8-NaCN.
