This work discloses a new compact planar antenna for low cost RFID passive transponders. The proposed antenna takes advantage of its unique topology in order to assure conjugate matching with essentially complex impedance of the electronic chip directly embedded into radiator. Good performance is predicted theoretically and confirmed experimentally over an operating bandwidth of actual RFID system

This work emphasises rectenna design issues of passive RFID transponders for 868/915-MHz and 2.45-GHz ISM bands. The characterisation of transponder chip takes into account the impact of connecting antenna to rectifier by flip-chip bonding process. Proposed experimental way allows finding chip impedance exactly as it seen by antenna. Refined rectifier circuitry effectively overcomes dependence of transponder performances on the type deviation of connected antennas.

This work discloses a novel electrically small planar antenna for microwave and UHF RFID passive transponders. The proposed antenna takes advantage of its unique topology in order to assure conjugate matching with essentially complex impedance of the electronic chip directly embedded into radiator. Very good performance is predicted theoretically and confirmed experimentally over an operating bandwidth of actual RFID system.

This work discloses a compact planar antenna for microwave and UHF RFID and wireless sensor passive transponders. The proposed antenna takes advantage of its unique topology in order to assure conjugate matching with essentially complex impedance of the electronic chip directly embedded into radiator. Very good performance is predicted theoretically and confirmed experimentally over an operating bandwidth of actual short-range wireless system

This paper discloses a new measurement-based model of on-chip spiral inductor with BCB dielectric layer. The parameters of refined equivalent circuit are extracted through an optimisation with respect to specially formulated objective function. Accurate modelling of fabricated high-Q inductors validates the proposed approach over a wide band from 100 MHz to 20 GHz.

This work discloses a new radiator for small planar antennas. The proposed radiator takes advantage of its unique topology in order to reduce a size under the given bandwidth, radiation pattern, gain, and polarization purity. Practical example of UHF antenna with proposed radiator demonstrates notable size and good electrical performances.
