Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women worldwide and occurs in nearly one out of eight women. Currently there are three techniques to diagnose breast cancer: mammography, FNA (Fine Needle Aspirate) and surgical biopsy. In this paper, we develop a system that can classify “Breast Cancer Disease” tumor using neural network with Feed-forward Backpropagation Algorithm to classify the tumor from a symptom that causes the breast cancer disease. The main aim of research is to develop more cost-effective and easy-to-use systems for supporting clinicians. For the breast cancer tumor diagnosis problem, experimental results show that the concise models extracted from the network achieve high accuracy rate of on the training data set and on the test data set. Breast cancer tumor database used for this purpose is from the University of Wisconsin (UCI) Machine Learning Repository.

The latest Semantic Web developments and insights in knowledge management challenge the new era of semantic-based knowledge-management systems, where lies the new possibilities that Semantic Web affords for improved knowledge management. Connectivity and interoperability of knowledge management systems is the key to the vision of the future. We need a comprehensive framework that addresses main issues related to distributed Knowledge Management. Semantic Web Services (SWS) is the next major generation of the Web in which e-services and business communication become more knowledge-based. It proposes to extend the traditional Web Services technologies with its key enabling technologies of ontologies and semantics; to solve the problem of heterogeneity and interoperability of data across applications. This makes it possible to select, integrate and invocate services dynamically, which enable services to adapt themselves to changes without human intervention. The main purpose of this paper is to present the relevance of SWS technologies to KMS. Further, we discuss about the two major initiatives in SWS research. Later, we will propose ontology based semantic web services framework for KMS. Our focus is in the web service provider layer where we will introduce the three main components; knowledge manager, web service manager and ontology mapping manager.

Organizations worldwide are dealing with immense growth of data at a huge speed hence making it difficult to manage. The main difficulty in handling such large amount of data is due to the five big data concepts involving volume, velocity, variety, veracity and value which increases rapidly in comparison to the computing resources. One of the arms of the government which holds the responsibility of managing the almsgiving or zakat is currently facing similar issues with the growing amount of data on zakat payers, zakat distribution and various zakat recipients. The overwhelming amount of data must be carefully managed by the zakat institution and the appointed zakat fund trustee. Zakat data resides in massive, unstructured information, largely in various forms of numeric, text and imagery. Hence, there exist a need for zakat institutions to have better data management mechanism namely to coordinate and govern data between the zakat institution and zakat fund trustee offices. This study proposes a big data maturity model to gauge the readiness of zakat institutions to embark into the big data evolution. The proposed model also aims to provide the zakat institution with more structured processes of managing the high volume of data in order to provide better reporting transparency, making well-informed decisions and instill better trust from the Islamic community on better zakat management and distribution.

Mobile Workforce Management System (MWMS) is seen to be used to a great extent by many electricity utilities around the world. MWMS is particularly useful for these utilities as more than two-thirds of their workforce are mobile and would need a centralized control system to function efficiently. This paper presents an overview of the electricity utilities that implement and use MWMS. The discussions include background of the projects, project descriptions, and benefits of the projects. We present a table that summarizes all our findings and provide the discussion on the trend of the applications, hardware, functions covered and potential future applications. A few discussions on how to improve the existing systems, particularly incorporation of Knowledge Management (KM) is also presented in this paper. It is a hope that our findings can provide some basic ideas for other researchers to go further in MWMS research area, particularly in its adoption to Electricity Supply Industry (ESI).

In recent times, information integration has gained importance in the provision of focused and structured information for more comprehensive purposes in the educational domain. Although the Ministry of Higher Education in Iraq has a Web portal that provides information pertaining to Postgraduate studies and research, information retrieval supported by the Website still pose a major problem to students. In order to address this problem the researcher in this study propose an ontology based framework for performing the process of information integration in four well-known universities in Iraq. This paper applies Uschold and King ontology building methodology to develop the domain ontology to support information interoperability among the selected Iraqi universities. A query system is then developed for assisting postgraduate students in their search for information related to postgraduate research and development at the universities.

This research paper presents the features of a proposed Mobile Workforce Management System (MWMS) that will be used for the Electricity Supply Industries (ESI). The paper wraps up the types of related works that has been executed; the study on problems addressed and proposed application system flow. The paper also identifies the various aspects of mobile workforce management benefits contribution to the electricity utilities. A significant part on Knowledge Management (KM) has also been rationalized and incorporated to the development. As a whole, it is hoped that with the research on MWMS development, enhancement and advancement in the particular area can be adopted in the nearest future targeting at various utilities.
