Model of the air stream ratio for an electromagnetic mill control system

The paper presents a model of the air stream ratio in the dry grinding and classification circuit with the electromagnetic mill. The concept of the grinding system is described along with indirect measurement methodology. Model structure and identification problems are discussed and a supervisory control algorithm based on the model is derived.

Power optimizing control of grinding process in electromagnetic mill

The paper presents optimizing control of the electromagnetic grinding system. The electromagnetic grinding is a complex process, thus formulation of the optimization problem is done in a top-down manner. To do so, the parameters which influence product quality and serves as decision variables are specially selected. The selection follows from environmental analysis of the system and discussion of the dynamics of disturbances which affect the grinding process. The criterion function to be minimized is electrical energy consumption. Algorithms solving optimization problem are described in the paper. The optimizing control performs as adaptive-like system where minimum energy is kept by proper control of the inverter. Control system constitutes an element of SCADA layered structure.

Estimation problems of pneumatic transport system for electromagnetic grinding

The paper presents models and estimation algorithm of the air stream velocities in pneumatic material transport for supervisory and direct control layers of electromagnetic milling system. The algorithm uses redundant measurement system and identifies parameters of the first principle model to increase reliability of the measurements and to give rise of the fault detection system.

Active suspension with a limited authority adaptive control

The paper presents feedback control algorithm for active vehicle suspension systems. The algorithm uses internal model of the system which is composed with two parts: disturbances path and control path. The first is highly non-stationary while the second is constituted with relatively fixed-parameters. This difference justifies the use of limited authority adaptive control, where only disturbance path is subjected to identifycation. The controller is derived in a direct adaptive form where the parameters of the controller are identified directly. Pole placement methodology is also involved to provide a room for upper-layer optimization which allows for inclusion additional requirements, for example optimal contact between wheels and road surface.

Optimized control of air-conditioning process with recycle

The paper presents hierarchical control system of air-conditioning process with recycle. Technological demands require changes of the operating points which are realized by the upper control layer. Operating points are optimized using grey box model of the process: one part of the model is formulated as first principle model while the second is identified as the mathematical model. Dedicated optimization algorithm is derived and described in the paper. Direct (lower) control layer uses gain-scheduled PID controllers. This hierarchical control system has been tested on a pilot air-conditioning process which is aimed to verify real-world installation of air-conditioning for the hall where creep testing of metals is performed.
