Compared with the effect of total phosphorus removal by modified peat and ammonium nitrogen removal by modified zeolite respectively, ammonium nitrogen and total phosphorus removal by modified peat associated with modified zeolite from micro-polluted scenic-water were studied in this paper. The surface structures of natural material, modified material and the modified material after adsorption saturated in combined effect were analyzed by SEM. It was found that in combined effect experiment, the ability of total phosphorus removal in aqueous solution by modified peat was improved and the peat released ammonium nitrogen, the ability of ammonium nitrogen removal in aqueous solution by modified zeolite was decreased. Ammonium nitrogen and total phosphorus were simultaneous removed from micro-polluted scenic-water by the combined effect of modified peat and modified zeolite, and the effluent quality meets the reuse of urban recycling water—water quality standard for scenic water consumption (GB/T 18921-2002, China).

Based on the statistical analysis on the emission of main air pollution sources, ADMS-Urban was used to simulate the distribution of SO2 concentration in the Shanghai Expo area. The effects of wind direction, wind speed, clouds coverage and rainfall on the emission of SO2 concentration were investigated. The results show that the Yangshupu power plant gave the most contribution to SO2 concentration in the Shanghai Expo planning area. Clouds coverage can restrain the dispersion of the air pollutants, while rainfall can wash them away reducing the pollutants concentration more effectively than the former. It has also been found that at the wind direction of 36.8° or 190.8°, the SO2 concentration in the Shanghai Expo planning area exceeded the standards, the air quality in the Shanghai Expo planning area is the worst.
