Two cobalt(II) complexes based on 2-propyl-4,5-imidazoledicarboxylic acid: syntheses, crystal structures, and properties

Two complexes, [Co(H2pimdc)2(H2O)2] · 2DMF (1) and [Co(H2pimca)2(H2O)2] · 4H2O (2), have been designed, synthesized, and characterized (X-ray single crystal analysis, thermal analysis, electrochemical analysis, and infrared spectrum) based on the imidazole ligand [H3pimdc = 2-propyl-4,5-imidazoledicarboxylic acid]. Both compounds have 3-D hydrogen-bonding networks. Because of different coordination of water, 1 forms a layer-like geometry via hydrogen bonds, but 2 forms a fishingnet-like latticed geometry via hydrogen bonds.

Zinc(II) complexes of 4,4-oxybis(benzoate) and 2-propyl-4,5-imidazoledicarboxylic acid with bipyridine

The reactions of dicarboxylic acids, such as 4,4-oxybis(benzoic acid) [H2oba] and 2-propyl-4,5-imidazoledicarboxylate [H3pimdc], under hydrothermal conditions in the presence of an appropriate zinc salt yield two mononuclear complexes, which are characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectrum, electrochemical analysis, thermal analysis, and X-ray crystal diffraction. Complex 1, [Zn(Hoba)2(4,4′-bpy)2], forms a 2-D supramolecular layer like rhombus via hydrogen bonds (O–H ··· N). Complex 2, [Zn(H2pimdc)2(2,2′-bpy)] · H2O, forms a zig-zag chain via multiple hydrogen bonds and C–H ··· π interactions. The moderate hydrogen-bond interactions in 1 and 2 play an important role for structural stability. The electrochemical analyses of 1 and 2 reveal electron transfer of 1 is reversible and 2 is quasi-reversible.

Synthesis, Crystal Structure, and Properties of Two Zinc(II) Complexes With 2-propyl-4,5-imidazoledicarboxylic Acid

A tetradentate 2-propyl-4,5-imidazoledicarboxylic acid [H3pimdc] reacts with zinc sulfate in the ethanol aqueous solution and zinc acetate in the N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) aqueous solution to give two complexes, [Zn(H2pimdc)2(H2O)2]·4H2O and [Zn(H2pimdc)2(H2O)2]·2DMF. The complexes were characterized by X-ray single-crystal analysis, thermal analysis, and IR spectrum. Because of the different coordination of water, complex 1 forms a fishing net–like latticed topology geometry via hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking interaction, but complex 2 forms a layer-like topology geometry via hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking interaction.

Poly[[μ(2)-aqua-μ(3)-(4-carb-oxy-2-propyl-1H-imidazole-5-carboxyl-ato-κN,O:O:O)-sodium] hemihydrate].

In the title compound, {[Na(C8H9N2O4)(H2O)]·0.5H2O}n, the Na+ ion is coordinated by two bridging water molecules, one N atom and three O atoms from three 4-carboxy-2-propyl-1H-imidazole-5-carboxylate (H2pimdc) ligands. Adjacent Na+ ions are linked alternately by two water O atoms and two carboxy O atoms into a chain along [001]. These chains are connected through the coordination of the carboxylate O atoms to the Na+ ions, forming a three-dimensional structure. An intramolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bond and intermolecular N—H⋯O and O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds are present in the crystal structure.

Hydrothermal Synthesis, Structural Determination, and Properties of a New Family of Mononuclear Lanthanide Complexes with Pyridines Bearing More Flexible Pendant-Arm Carboxylate Substituents

Members of a new family of mononuclear lanthanide complexes possessing the general formula Ln(3-pyrac)3(H2O)3 (Ln = Y 1, La 2, Sm 3, Eu 4, Gd 5, Tb 6, Dy 7, Er 8, 3-pyrac = 3-pyridylacetate) were synthesized by hydrothermal reaction and characterized by single-crystal x-ray diffraction analysis, infrared (IR) spectra, luminescent spectroscopy, and thermal analysis. Photoluminescence measurement indicates that the complexes 3, 4, 6, and 7 exhibit characteristic emission of Sm(III), Eu(III), Tb(III), and Dy(III) at room temperature. The electrochemical behavior of complexes 4 has been examined by cyclic voltammetry in aqueous solution.

Syntheses, Crystal Structure, and Properties of Cu(II) and Zn(II) Complexes with 1, 4-phenylenediacetate and 2, 2′-bipyridine

Two new complexes constructed by 1,4-phenylenediacetic acid (H2PDA) and 2,2′-bipyridine (2,2′-bpy), namely [Cu(PDA)(2,2′-bpy)]·5H2O (1) and [Zn2(PDA)(2,2′-bpy)2Cl2] (2), have been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, IR, and UV-Vis spectrum. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that they both crystallize in the triclinic space group of P-1. In complex 1, the Cu atom is hexa-coordinated and each asymmetric unit contains five uncoordinated water molecules that form a water cluster (H2O)10 with their symmetric equivalent. Complex 2 is a simple dimer and the Zn atom is penta-coordinated. Both in complex 1 and 2 there are π−π stacking interactions.

Coordination Polymers With the Ligand (2-propyl-4,5-imidazoledicarboxylic acid): Synthesis, Structural Characteristics, and Properties Studies

Three novel metal coordination complexes with H3piadc[H3 pimdc = 2-propyl-4,5-imidazoledicarboxylic acid], [Cu(H2pim- dc)2 ] (1), [Cd(H2pimdc)2 ]n (2), and [Pb(H2pimdc)2(H2O)2]n (3) have been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray single-crystal analysis. Complexes 1 and 2 of X-ray crystallography reveal that each copper(II) and cadmium(II) center is four- and six-coordinated, respectively. One molecule of complex 1 is approximately perpendicular to the other molecule, and forms a squareness. Complex 2 adopts an octahedral structure. Complex 2 is connected by metal cation and forms 3-D metal-organic frameworks without solvent molecules such as H2O, CH3OH, C2H5OH, and so on. The frameworks of complex 1 have no solvent molecules such as H2O, CH3OH, C2H5OH, and so on, too. But complex 3 X-ray crystallography reveals that each lead(II) center is eight-coordinated and adopts a distorted-square structure. Complex 3 is connected by metal cation and form 3-D metal-organic frameworks with two coordinated solvent molecules(H2O).

Bis[μ-2-(2,4-difluoro­phen­yl)-1,3-bis­(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)propan-2-olato]dicopper(II) bis­(perchlorate)

The title complex, [Cu2(C13H11F2N6O)2](ClO4)2, which was hydrothermally synthesized, contains a binuclear copper cluster (2 symmetry) with a Cu2O2 rhombus [Cu—O = 1.927 (2) Å] formed by donation of two O atoms from two chelate rings. The tridentate function of each ligand is completed by two N atoms coordinated to the two CuII atoms [Cu—N = 1.933 (2) Å]. The separation distance of two CuII atoms in a cluster is 2.988 (1) Å. The dihedral angle between the six-membered chelate rings is 2.13 (9)°. The perchlorate counter-anion is disordered over two sites in a 0.58 (10):0.42 (10) ratio.
