A general organocatalytic 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction between allyl ketones and various azides is reported. The reaction is catalyzed by a secondary amine to generate substituted 1,2,3-triazoles with high levels of regioselectivity.

1,3-Dipolar cycloaddition reaction of α,β-unsaturated ketones with azides through iminium catalysis has been developed. This method could furnish 1,4,5-trisubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles in good yields and high levels of regioselectivity.

A dienamine-mediated enantioselective 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition catalyzed by a chiral prolinol silyl ether catalyst has been developed. Removal of the benzamide group of the intermediates could furnish chiral C-1 substituted tetrahydroisoquinolines (see scheme) in high yields and excellent stereoselectivities.

We report here the [3 + 2] cycloaddition reactions of in situ-generated aza-oxyallyl cations with commercially available α,β-unsaturated aldehydes or aldehydes, providing a rapid and efficient synthetic approach to access a variety of oxazolidin-4-ones in high yields.

An efficient [4+3] cycloaddition reaction of in situ generated aza-o-quinodimethanes with C,N-cyclic azomethine imines has been developed. A wide range of 1,2,4-triazepine derivatives were synthesized in high yields (81–99%).

An organocatalytic inverse-electron-demand Diels–Alder reaction of ketones with 1,3,5-triazine through enamine catalysis has been developed. This method could furnish 4,5-disubstituted pyrimidines in good yields and high levels of regioselectivities.
