The ejection velocity of rock fragments during rock burst, one of the important indexes representing the rock burst strength, is used most conveniently in the supporting design of tunnel with rock burst tendency and is often determined by means of observation devices. In order to calculate the average ejection velocity of rock fragments theoretically, the energy of rock burst was divided into damage consuming energy and kinetic energy gained by unit volume of rock firstly, and then the rock burst kinetic proportional coefficient ν was brought up which could be determined according to the rock-burst damage energy index WD, at last the expression of the average ejection velocity of rock fragments during rock burst was obtained and one deep level underground tunnel was researched using the mentioned method. The results show that the calculation method is valid with or without considering the tectonic stress of tunnels, and that the method can be a reference for supporting design of deep mining.

The fragmentation test of granite subjected to strain rate of 100 – 102 s−1 was carried out using split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB) whose diameter is 75 mm, where half-sine loading waveform was performed. The sieving statistics results of the fragments show that the distribution of the fragments is a fractal, and the fractal dimension values fall into the range of 1.2–2.4. The correlation analysis between the fractal dimension and the logarithm of the energy density shows that they have approximately linear relation. Finally, based on damage theory and scale invariant principle, the fragmentation model with renormalization method was put forward, and the fractal dimension value predicted with the model was compared with the test results. It is found that the fractal dimension value obtained from the improved fragmentation model is more reasonable.

In order to obtain the optimal parameters of anchor bolt supporting system for large-span and jointed rock mass in Kaiyang Phosphor Mine, it is expensive and unavailable with the method of in-situ experiments. This paper describes a numerical modeling with discrete element method for the supporting effects of different type of anchor bolts. The anchor bolts with variant length of 0.5 m, 0.8 m, 1.0 m, diameter of 10 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm, setting spacing of 3.0 m, 2.5 m, 2.0 m, and setting angle of 10°, 20°, 30°, are simulated respectively. The results show that there exist optimal parameters of anchor bolt support for large-span and jointed rock mass. For the bolt support of the concerning, the optimal length is 2.5–3.5 m, the diameter is 25–35 mm, the spacing is 0.5–0.6 m, and the setting angle is 105°.
