Being based on the concept hierarchy, the paper has introduced a new kind of knowledge representation into the system of data mining which can help transfer the concept hierarchy into a range of decision tables. While taking into account the relationship among the nodes at different levels of a concept hierarchy, the paper further proposed a hierarchical reduction algorithm which can be used for the reduction of both attributes and values in the decision tables. At the same time to theoretically prove the rationality of the algorithm, the paper has furthermore proved its efficiency and reliability with an empirical study of the micro-electromechanical system

This paper addresses how to inform nano science and technology management by mining a particularly rich information resource - the publicly accessible databases on nano fields. Empirical bibliometrics, technology forecast, technology assessment and competitive technical intelligence are not well utilized in technology management. Three factors could enhance managerial utilization: capability to exploit huge volumes of available information, ways to do so very quickly, and informative representations that help manage emerging technologies. In this paper, a framework based on text mining techniques is proposed to discover useful intelligence from the large body of nanos electronic text sources. This intelligence is a prime requirement for successful S&T management. After that the proposed method is applied to nano technology to give an empirical study.

While taking into account the characters in the science and technology information management, the paper has introduced a new 0-1 integer optimization model for attribute reduction in rough sets. Being based on a new 0-1 distinguish matrix and the mode of man-machine cooperation, the paper further proposed a man-machine cooperative intelligent algorithm which can be used for the attribute reduction. Finally, the paper has furthermore proved the algorithms efficiency and reliability with an empirical study of the microelectromechanical system.

Cooperation and exchange activities have become indispensable part of R&D, and performance of it is also concerned by many scientists and managers. A logic model of performance evaluation oriented to R&D projects with cooperation and exchange was discussed by focusing on International Cooperation and Exchange (ICE) projects in National Science Foundation of China (NSFC). After features of ICE projects were introduced, performance mechanism of ICE projects was analyzed. Moreover, framework of performance evaluation was specially highlighted from four dimensions based on discussion of general process of these R&D activities, and related key issues and major indicators were presented as well.

Arbitrage function is one of the most significant functions of ETF (Exchange Traded Fund). The purpose of this research is to establish an ETF arbitrage decision support system. Through the analysis of arbitrage mechanism and arbitrage costs, the paper sets up an accurate ETF arbitrage model, and then exploit the system rely on the model above. The operations of the system mainly comprise four steps: realtime data acquisition; data analysis; data early warning and data visualization. The system achieves real-time analysis and early warning for ETF arbitrage opportunities in financial markets. Empirical results indicate that the proposed model is accurate in monitoring and the early warning for the opportunity of ETF arbitrage, therefore, it gives effective support for the decision of investors.
