Full digital control and application of high power synchronous motor drive with dual stator winding fed by cycloconverter

This paper presents air-gap flux-oriented vector control based on pseudo 12-pulse noncirculating current cycloconverter-fed dual stator winding synchronous motor (DSSM) drive for high power and low speed application. The dual stator winding salient pole synchronous motor with damper winding model is discussed. The feedforward decoupling control method and proportional-integral (PI) separate controller of stator current regulation has been used. The DSSM drive for mine hoist is implemented using a multiprocessor digital controller. Experimental results are presented.

Development of full digital control system of TCR dynamic reactive power compensation based on Simadyn-D

Based on the Simadyn-D digital control system, the full digital control system of thyristor control reactor (TCR) for dynamic reactive power compensation is developed in the paper. This control system consists of Simadyn-D control system containing the voltage regulating loop (internal loop) and the power factor correction loop (external loop), and the thyristor valve groups. An adaptive control method is proposed for following and regulating quickly the voltage fluctuation and the power factor correction. The anti-nonlinearity control strategy is suggested for compensating the nonlinearity of thyristor devices. Some research results are given.

A novel control scheme of 230kA DC power source using thyristor, Phase-shifting rectifier transformer and On-load tap changer

This 230 kA DC power source is composed of four set separated DC power in parallel operation. There are +3.75deg, -3.75deg, +11.25deg, -11.25deg phase shifting between each rectifier transformer and original source. Each set device mainly contains on-load tap changer, phase-shifting rectifier transformer and con-phase counter parallel rectifier. In this paper, a current control scheme is realized based on SIEMENS corp. product. According to the required function, the hardware is chose and described, and the software is designed and realized. The design control system is organized by current control level, logic control level and human level. The relation between these levels is determined. The system is validated by electrolytic aluminum plant. From the measured data, the current control precision can reach 0.1% in dynamic process. The rectifier efficiency is more than 97.5%. The whole control devices realized zero current changing on-load tap changer. This developed DC power source can utilize for electrochemical, electro winning, plasma torches etc

Theory and its applications of anti-oscillation adaptive control in vibration control engineering for winders and winding-tower of shaft

The phenomena of oscillation or vibration in practical engineering of winders and winding-tower of shaft are first introduced in this paper. From the analysis, we show that it is the nonlinear-coupled vibration between mechanical and electrical systems, that caused the vibration of winder or winding-tower of shaft. A method of suppressing this vibration is proposed, i.e., the method of anti-oscillation adaptive electrical control. The mechanical or building vibration caused by power drives is suppressed by using the method suggested. It is shown that the method is effective for practical vibration suppression engineering.
