The aim of this study to examine risk factors of decompression sickness among traditional fishermen community in Saponda Island of Konawe Regency of Southeast Sulawesi Province. The study was used the observation analysis with case control study. The location for this study was in Saponda island of Konawe regency of Sulawesi Province. There were 174 samples which divided on two group: intervention and control group. Both groups had 87 samples for each group where intervention group included all traditional fishermen experienced decompression sickness (DCS) that diagnosed by the doctor, while control group was traditional fishermen who did not suffered DCS based on the doctors diagnosis. The fishermen were selected used purposive sampling method. The data were analyzed by using SPSS computer program with odds ratio test and multiple logistic regression test. There were three variables that significant with decompression sick ness incidence such as diving depth (OR=46.3 CI:2.99-715.72), disease background (OR=20.3, CI= 8.43-48.7), diving duration (OR=19.6, CI= 3.74-103.24) and high risk factor was diving depth.

The aim of this study to determine relationship between behavioral prevention of family toward typhoid fever among children in Kassi-Kassi Public Health Center (Puskesmas) working area at Makassar city. The study was used analytical survey research with cross sectional research design. The population for this study was all parents especially mother of children aged between 5 and 14 years old who suffered typhoid fever and had medical record in Puskesmas. The sample sizes were 124 respondents by using exhaustive sampling technique. The result found there was significant relationship between personal hygiene behavior (p=0.000), environmental sanitation behavior (p=0.004), drinking water provision behavior (p=0.0220, food provision behavior (p=0.000) on the incidence of typhoid fever in children.

This study aims to analyze the relationship between mosquito breeding places, the use of insecticide-treated nets, the use of anti- mosquito substances, the habit of going out at night, and the presence of farm animals; and malaria incidence; and examine map of malaria distribution in Gorontalo regency. The research was conducted at some places in Gorontalo regency, including Limboto Community Health Center, Telaga Biru Community Health Center, and Asparaga Community Health Center. The study was conducted as an observational research with as cross sectional study design. The samples were 246 people, the data were collected through direct interviews with a questionnaire; and they were analyzed using the univariate test, bivariate statistical test with Chi Square and multivariate test with logistic regression. The distribution maps of malaria was determined using Quantum GIS. The results show that four risk factors -- the use of insecticide- treated nets (p = 0.000), Utilization of anti-mosquito substances (p= 0.040), the habit of going out at night (p = 0.000), and the presence of farm animals (p = 0.019) are associated with the incidence of malaria. In contrast, mosquito breeding place is not associated with malaria incidence (p= 0.780). Multivariate test with logistic regression test results reveal that the utilization of insecticide-treated nets is the most influential factor on the incidence of malaria with a wald value = 48.510, Exp (B) = 48.147 and B value = 3.874.
