Abstract In this study, five new bis(aminoglyoximes), 1,4-phenylenebis(aminoglyoxime), 1,1′-biphenyl-4,4′-bis(aminoglyoxime), 1,1′-diphenyloxy-4,4′-bis(aminoglyoxime), 1,1′-diphenylmethylene-4,4′-bis(aminoglyoxime) and 1,1′-diphenylethylene-4,4′-bis(aminogly-oxime) have been synthesised from anti-chloroglyoxime and the corresponding aromatic diamines. Their polymeric complexes with Ni(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) have been obtained. The complexes with Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) of these ligands are square-planar and the complexes with Cd(II) and Hg(II) are tetrahedral. To elucidate the structures of the complexes and ligands, elemental analyses, IR and 1H-NMR spectral data have been used.

ABSTRACT Four different 4-aminobenzoate derivates of vic-dioximes were synthesized. Their transition metal complexes with Ni(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) were prepared with a metal-ligand ratio of 1:2. The unsymmetrical complexes are in the anti form. The ligands and complexes were characterized by a combination of 1H NMR, IR and elemental analyses. The extraction abilities of these new vic-dioximes were examined by the liquid–liquid and solid–liquid extraction of selected alkali [Li(I), Na(I), K(I) and Cs(I)] and transition metal [Cd(II), Hg(II), Cu(II), Pb(II) and Ni(II)] ions.

Abstract The reaction of anti-chlorophenylglyoxime with suitable alkylamines in ethanol-water at 0°C gives the unsymmetrica! vic-dioximes, namely, N-ethylaminophenylglyoxime (L1H2), N-propylaminoglyoxime (L2H2) and N-butylaminoglyoxime (L3H2). The Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes of these ligands are square-planar while the Co(II) complexes are octahedral with water molecules as axial ligands. The structures of these complexes are proposed based on elemental analyses, IR and magnetic susceptibility measurements.

Abstract In this study the synthesis of macrocyclic ligands 15,21-dinitro-2,5,8,ll-tetraoxatricyclo(17,4,0,012′17) tricosa-1 (23),12,14,16,19,21-hexaene-3,10-dione (I); 18,24-dinitro-2,5,8,1l,14-pentaoxatricyclo(20,4,0,015,20) hexacosa-l(26),15, 17,19,22,24-hexaene-3,13-dione (II) and 15,21-di-t-butyl-2,5,8,11-tetraoxatricyclo(17,4,0,012,17) tricosa-1(23),12,14,16, 19,21-hexaene-3,10-dione (III) are described. Attemption of the preparation of their complexes in crystalline form with NaClO4.H2O, KC1O4, and Ba(C1O4)2.3H2O are discussed.

Abstract In this study, two novel tetraoximes were synthesized by reacting anti-chloroglyoxime with sym-bis(p-aminophenyl)oxamidine and sym-bis-4-(4′-aminobiphnyl)oxamidine. Polynuclear complexes with Ni(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) and binuclear complexes with Zn(II) and Cd(II) of these tetraoximes were isolated. All these complexes are insoluble in common solvents; structures are proposed according to elemental analysis, i.r., and magnetic susceptibility measurements.

Abstract In this article, we present the procedures employed in the quantitative analysis of polychlordibenzodioxins (PCDD) and polychlordibenzofurans (PCDF) isolated from the roadside soils of autobahns, and describe the technics employed to extract and concentrate these compounds. The soil samples were extracted and the above isomers were isolated by column chromatography, utilizing columns packed with materials such as Kiesel-gel/H2SO4, Alumina Woelm B Super 1, Kieselgel + Kieselgei/NaOH + Kieselgel/H2SO4 Bio Beads S-X3, Alumina B Super 1 + Kieselgel/AgNO3 respectively. The isomers were then quantitatively determined by GC/MS (gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy) analysis.

Abstract In this study, a series of PCDDs emitted to the surrounding soil as the result of incineration of waste cables have been identified. PCDD contaminants were concentrated from soil samples and isolated from other materials by chromatographic methods. PCDD isomers were identified separately by column chromatography utilizing column packed with materials such as Kieselgel /44 vol. % H2SO4, Macro Alumina B Super 1, Mix Column, Bio Beads S-X3, Alumina B Super 1 + Kieselgel/AgNO3 and their quantitative determinations were performed by GC/MS (gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy).
